Located on the historic Colombia Road, within stone's throw of the flower market, Birdcage couldn't be a better setting for a rejuvenated drinking lounge. 

Intent on salvaging the pub to its former glory, the aim is to restore the building to its historic majesty with bags of character thrown in. Respectful of the site's Victorian features, we've spruced up the wooden bar, mouldings, columns and banquettes. Bringing in a bit of contemporary flare to proceedings; a caged beer display, neon signs and industrial style lighting draw the place up to date. 

This place knows its beer, and there's an excellent selection of European and local craft beers on offer. For anyone wanting to try something a little bit jazzier, Max Chater of Bump Caves concocts innovative 'optics' cocktails. Pies are a really big thing here, which is absolutely marvellous! Take your pick from fillings like steak and ale, chicken, leak and ham and sweet potato and goat's cheese.
