Description

The Narrowboat Pub is situated directly on the  Regents Canal with outside balcony tables looking out over the water, it's the ideal spot for some alfresco drinking and dining with great views to match.   After a bracing walk along the canal there isn't a better spot to stop than the Narrowboat with it's fire & great food.

The Narrow Boat prides itself on its great range of cask conditioned ales, which include Young's bitters and Young's Specials along with bespoke Regent's gold brew. There's also a large craft beer selection including Meantime and Camden beers and a carefully crafted wine list with everything from new and old wines to complement your food.

Expect very well done traditional pub grub created using carefully sourced British ingredients. The pub is also the ideal place for enjoying a spot of Sunday lunch whilst sunk into the cosy armchairs of the chilled venue.

We always love coming to the Narrow Boat. Service and food are always wonderful. However, this time the service was actually very slow - nearly 15 minutes to get drinks. Over 30-40 minutes to receive our food from the time we ordered. I recommended the burger to 2 of my friends (it's usually great!). Although, this time it was really overdone and very dry. We didn't complain at the time since I've previously not had any issues and thought it would be way more hassle to wait another 30 mins for our food and make everyone wait. I'll be sure to give it another try as I do love the atmosphere. Just wanted to provide feedback...even though it was clear the restaurant was busy...the service definitively suffered because of it which isn't great, adimatteo visited The Narrow Boat on 19 Feb 2017

Interior decor tired and a little grubby - eg feathers on chair cushions exposed. Ordered 'pink' beef and was delivered 'well done', albeit this was changed. Fried fish was overcooked with too much batter. Would think twice about a return visit visited The Narrow Boat on 29 Jan 2017

We were disappointed. I had booked 2 weeks in advance and we had 2 small round tables for 5 people, not even at the same height which was not very convenient. Then we have been waiting for 1 hour for our meal and I had to wait longer as my salad wasn't ready. Not sure I will want to go again which is a shame as we live very close. visited The Narrow Boat on 15 Jan 2017

The atmosphere and staff are really nice but the service was not great. We were downstairs, some drinks were brought down but some weren't and the food arrived in dribs and drabs so some plates were cold by the time the final person's meal arrived. That sounds as if we had a huge party - there were only four of us! visited The Narrow Boat on 13 Jan 2017

The food was fine. Very basic pub food. The service - well, what can I say? Firstly, I was given a dirty glass. When I requested a clean glass, the waiter handed it over to me with his fingers on the rim. Not very sanitary. The drinks they had on offer were basic - no herbal tea nor decaf coffee. However, I enjoyed being on the canal and the pub itself has a nice feel. So, I'll go back - however, this time no food, beer only, and I'll ask the waiter to handle the glass differently (from the base, please). visited The Narrow Boat on 04 Jan 2017

the service and food were good, but was extremely disappointed that we were not seated in the area that I had specifically requested. we will need to consider whether we'll return another year, as the seating area is extremely important to us, and the fact that it was not taken into account shows poor consideration visited The Narrow Boat on 20 Dec 2016

Hi, I've been to the NB before and its was good. On Xmas day it was bit below expectations. Firstly my order took three phone calls to get right and it was still wrong on the placement card on the table. We didn't get the meet & greet Proseco- and had to ask for it when sat down. The soups were truly awful- we sent two back- it was like lemon medicine- the worst I've ever had. The replacement croquettes were also tasteless and why put Juniper (?) berries with it, they taste like poison , so bitter. The 'green' garnish was also so bitter to taste, it was unpleasant. It felt like the chef was trying too hard to be inventive and got it wrong. The main course was excellent! The figgy pudding was served cold which wasn't right. One other thing that spoilt the experience- I was sat opposite the waste bin so had to watch all the scraps being tipped into it, it is really unpleasant and this should not be visible to diners. Sorry its a poor review but there were so many things wrong . The staff were really nice and friendly. Best wishes David visited The Narrow Boat on 25 Dec 2016

Where to start - the food was very sub par, the nut roasts we ordered were hardly touched, not very nice at all. All meals were supposed to have roast potatoes, all but 2 out of 11 had them, we had to ask for a bowl of spuds! One of the waitresses was really nice, the other just really didn't want to be there and huffed every time she came over. The crumble desserts were inedible, and most of them went back untouched. We felt that the food wasn't worth the money we paid (and it was a lot). We were really looking forward to having an enjoyable Christmas dinner but left hungry and angry. I ordered the fish and chips - a dish that is quite difficult to get wrong. 1stly it arrived with oversalted wedges, not chips, and the fish batter was black and burnt where is had been over fried. The Narrow Boat provides a convivial place to eat and drink. The food and service was very good. It was unfortunate that a few customers caused a disturbance and that they were not ejected before there was an accident with a pint of lager. A very small part of the spilt lager caught me on my side even though there was an intervening table. However, I shall be sure to return there with my wife. visited The Narrow Boat on 01 Dec 2016

Very tasty food and a lovely atmosphere, Unfotunately my Dad's venison pie contained 3 pieces of venison which was rather dissapointing. Thanks for your feedback. We do apologise that your experience was not the best it should have been. Right on cue our heating system packed up before Christmas, we did manage to get some industrial heaters, hot water bottles and blankets which perhaps may have been just after your visit. We have everything working now and i hope you will come in again and soak up the amazing festive warmth.
