The reality of growing up a surfer in Iceland is different from anywhere else in the world. It’s a harsh place. There are no surf shops, guidebooks or webcams. Icelandic surfers are seriously on their own both in and out of the water. But being so far removed from the hustle and bustle of the known surf world hardens Iceland’s surfers to confront the issue they all must face: the North Atlantic wind. Official selection Mountain Film 2016.

Slackline athlete Louis Boniface is the star of a gorgeous short film with a powerful reminder that it’s not the falls or roadblocks we encounter in life that truly matter but it’s how react to them and how elegantly we pick ourselves back up.
Film maker Yohann Grigno. 3 minutes.

Marcel and Andrezj are legendary mountaineers. They have been the first to conquer the highest and hardest peaks. To reach the summit of a daunting unclimbed peak they will have to overcome formidable obstacles, suffer hardships and endure each other’s company for a very long time. Official selection Banff Mountain Film Festival 2018.
Film maker Ignasi López Fàbregas. 10 minutes.

A jaw dropping account of one man’s attempt slackline with no safety rope across a huge canyon in Canada breaking the word’s longest unsupported slackline record. It will make your palms sweat. Official selection Whistler film festival 2017.
Film maker Levi Allen. 29 minutes.

Talisker has a heritage rooted in adventure, in 1830 its founders the MacAskill brothers crossed the Atlantic Ocean from the Isle of Eigg to establish the TALISKER distillery on the shores of Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye. It has remained there ever since, producing consistently fine whiskies for almost 200 years. There will be tasty Talisker hot toddies available to buy (and drink around the campfire) at this event.
