The O2 is London’s purpose‑built arena under the old Millennium Dome, a 20,000‑capacity landmark that has hosted some of modern music’s biggest moments. Since reopening as an entertainment district in 2007, it’s been the scene of Prince’s 21‑night residency, the Led Zeppelin reunion, countless record‑breaking stints by global stars, and headline events during the London 2012 Games when the building became “North Greenwich Arena.” Beyond the blockbuster nights, the venue’s acoustics, sightlines and production capacity have made it a reliable stop for everything from arena comedy to world championship sport.
A signature experience is Up at The O2 - a guided 90‑minute rooftop adventure that clips you into a harness and takes you over the tent’s fabric spine to a viewing platform with sweeping Thames and skyline panoramas. Daytime, sunset and twilight climbs run most of the year; expect a short safety briefing, supplied footwear and outerwear, and a gentle but exhilarating gradient suitable for most fitness levels (minimum age and height restrictions apply).
For pre‑ and post‑show plans, the enclosed Entertainment Avenue rings the arena with a broad mix of restaurants and bars; from grab‑and‑go counters for quick bite to casual spots for burgers, pizza, noodles or tacos, and smarter sit‑down dining for steak, sushi or small plates. Many places offer set menus timed to show starts, and there are late‑night bars for a final drink after the encore.
