Though it may be best known as a corporate area, Canary Wharf is also all about outdoor fun in the summer months.
From Thursday the 4th of June to Tuesday the 1st of September, Canada Square Park is transforming into an open-air cinema, with huge screens showing live sport, classic films and even live gaming sessions - all for free.

What's Summer Screens 2026?
Summer Screens is a free, fun-filled initiative designed to build community through outdoor film screenings, live sporting events, and even games. All summer long, you can head down, find a spot in the grass, and enjoy a variety of programming that has something for everyone.
What's Showing At Summer Screens?
- Films: The exact film list is yet to be released, but you can expect everything from classic rom-coms to action adventures, and Bollywood sing-alongs. Family-friendly movies are usually played on Saturday mornings to help parents kick-start the weekend, with the rest of the films playing every Tuesday and Sunday.
- Live Sports: From F1 to cricket and Wimbledon to Ascot, Summer Screens will be airing the season's most thrilling live sporting events on the big screen.
- Gaming: Lunchtime gaming sessions are being hosted where you can challenge friends and family to Mario Kart. Even more exciting is the Mario Kart championship, where one player will be crowned the King of the Karts. A variety of family gaming sessions will also be available for children aged 5 and older.
- Theatre: This year, theatre fans will be able to catch an NT Live screening of John Millington Synge’s play, The Playboy of the Western World.
