After a 2 year absence since closing in 2010, formerly in Victoria Embankment, for the new opening the team have snapped up the site of Chicago Rib Shack that is located in the heart of Knightsbridge. Known for pan-Asian dishes, reputable music and gorgeous interiors, London's new Buddha Bar will be no different.

You can expect all the lavish East meets West decor, set over two floors, and of course the giant Buddha. Bringing an exotic and soothing drinking and eating experience to London this will be a very popular destination. The food carries a strong Asian theme with some classic dishes like Seared Sesame Tuna and Wok Fried Beef ready to wow diners with great flavours, textures and smells. Avant-garde cocktails are also a big feature with highly skilled mixologists providing some of the coolest drinks anywhere in London.

With live DJs at Buddha Bar who play a subtle mixture of electro-style rhythums and ethnic and tribal sounds - together with a mix of classic hits, Buddha Bar caters for a good mixed crowd. People expect elegance and sophistication from Buddha Bar and with this new London offering they'll get exactly that. People think that Buddha will make a great date venue as well as being perfect for a meal and drinks with friends.

Buddha Bar - London Restaurant Review

Buddha Bar - London Restaurant Review

Being a good ole ‘South’ Londoner, I felt it was about time I swap my jeans, denim shirt and converse for a dress and pair of heels (after a good dust off that is!) and venture into Knightsbridge to check out high end sushi restaurant,...

The price for sushi in this city is way way out of control. It really doesn’t have to be nor need to be this expensive. Buddha Bar’s prices are stratospheric for nothing special at all. A California Roll for £20 quid …like come on here. It’s one of the simplest and least eclectic rolls invented. The décor is nice, and the bartenders are super cool, one of them even does magic for his customers, and they don’t mind a complimentary drink here or there, which is quite refreshing in a city full of tight wods. There own Buddha Bar beer bottles are a cool Buddha man shape yet the beer tastes like a Grolsch. But the extremely high food prices far out-weighs a worth-the-money dinner experience. One could say well a place like that is only for rich people, but let’s look at it from a normal rational perspective. No matter how rich someone is, does it make sense for him to pay £100 quid for a liter of fuel? …or £50 quid for a pack of cigarettes? …or £30 quid for a Big Mac you see my point? Sushi prices are now beyond the point of normal, worthy, rational …it’s at the point of ridiculousness. I recommend to go there on a full stomach and just drink at the bar sitting on a bar stool ONLY.

Really lovely decor and the food is good too. The staff are great but can be a bit short with you at times but I guess that's when they get busy. Other than that, great place!
