As The 89th Academy Awards approach this month, we're paying homage to all the great films that really should have won an Oscar!
The movie: Baz Luhrmann's take on Shakespeare's famous play, updated to the hip modern suburb of Verona but still retaining its original dialogue.
Was it even nominated: It picked up just one nomination for Best Art Direction.
What it should've won: Even with all the stunts and showy violence and musical numbers and newsreader-stand-ins-for-the-chorus, the most captivating thing in the whole movie is the quietly insistent sexual tension between Clare Danes and Leo, surely deserving of a Best Actor or Best Actress nod.. but at least they got the recognition they deserved, winning 'Best Kiss' at the MTV Movie Awards.
