Description

The Roxy is a drinking and partying institution in the heart of the West End. Come early evening for relaxing drinks in a cocktail and lounge bar setting with New York style exposed brickwork, a beautiful back-drop bar and plenty of seating for those early evening drinkers.

For those seeking evening refreshment, The Roxy offers an interesting alternative for drinking in the West End. An urbane, subterranean refuge from the crowded streets above with fantastic drink deals and a perfect place to hang out with friends or work colleagues. Then later, as will always be the case, The Roxy effortlessly transforms into a late night revellers club, attracting students, tourists, after-show parties, and post pub carry on's from all over the city.

The Roxy is the perfect setting for that quick bottle of wine before you embark upon the commute home or the ideal spot for an office gathering or party celebration - or simply one of the finest spots in Central London to throw your cares to the side, dance your legs away until the small hours and find your full stop on a night to remember.

Terrible place! The men guarding the doors were extremely rude to us. Luckily our night was not ruined: we found another club a few blocks away and had an amazing time.

I emailed to ask if they were offering a buy one get one half price deal and half price drinks during certain hours and they confirmed this to be the case. However, when we got to the venue not only did they not offer this deal but when we asked why the bartender told us to pay the full price or get out (we hadn't raised our voice or argued at this point) so this goes to show the level of service here. Without offers, the drinks here are overpriced (not even London standards) compared to other bars locally. Will never come here again. If you want to have a good time and go to a bar that have an honest management then avoid this place! There are plenty of bars around this area (e.g. on Goodge street) that have lovely customer service and reasonably priced drinks - a better representation of London life...

Disgusting treatment by the staff. I was in the Roxy tonight with one friend having a quiet drink minding our own business in a more than half empty place. Then suddenly a young early 20s girl came up to us without ID demanding our ID. I showed her my bank card with my name and bank details and a photo ID I have for London. Zoo with my name on it clearly stating a parent and child pass. The young lady demanded something with my age on it. I asked why did I need to reveal my age, I'm clearly over 18. She claimed it wasn't about my age, it was for my safety as by law it was turning into a night club and she needed to know my age. I repeated I did at want to reveal my age and that I shouldn't have to. Then I remembered I had my passport in my bag and showed her. By that point (2 minutes into the conversation) it was too late I was deemed a difficult client and she set the bouncer on me and had the manager sent down. None of whom had any decent reason to throw me out. None of the staff wanted to listen either. All this from a decision made by a 20 year old who then disappeared. Disgusting.

Happy Hour is really good, especially the prosecco. Not usually my favourite area to go out in, but it's more laid-back than a lot of places in Soho. I come when I'm in the area, either for a quick drink in the early evening or a late night dance!

Been to this club several times. It is not as large or crowded as most clubs, so is ideal for people who don't like that type of club. On weekdays prices are very ideal for students.

BE WARNED...after being served a flat barcardi and coke, they proceeded to threaten to throw me out for causing an issue. I was dragged into the back where the manager said my issue with the drink was causing a bad look on the bar. When paying £5 for a drink, you expect it get what you pay for. The customer is definitely not always right in Roxy. Hope the manager is happy with her actions last night. I will not be referring anyone here.

I used to come here as solely student on a Tuesday night! Heard it's expensive the rest of the time but usually had a good time when I went - decent cocktail selection and yes it is is very small - but it's no different to any capacity in other central/soho located basement bars.

Heard so much about this place when back home and saw the positive reviews here but was pretty disappointed to say the least. Extremely unpolite door attendants, cloakroom guy "forgetting" to give change back, hours to be served some overpriced and watered down drinks, indescribably dirty restrooms and worst of all were the crowd and music. Only positive note the central location.

The Roxy was amazing, had one of the best birthday's ever. The booth was great, the happy hour and half price cocktails were fab! Will definitely be heading back here again. Thank you so much DMN! Visited The Roxy on 2016-02-06

I have such fond memories of this place! While by no means the biggest or the best club, the drinks are London student-y with a crowd to match, and the dance floor is still sizable. There's a small area to sit, and I've never had to *fight* for a place to catch my breath. Check out their website for specific nights and for discounted entry to these nights. The Roxy is excellent for value, and I've never had a bad night there out of the numerous times that I've visited.

From the moment you enter the pounding inner core of this ethereal clubbing haven, until the time you finally emerge blinking into the bright lights of Rathbone Place, the Roxy will have you gripped and enchanted with its timeless combination of cutting-edge beats and beautiful people. With pitchers and cocktails to be found at a great value, you won’t need to spend too much to have a great time. My pals and I come down here every week or so (big shout out to the Brain Trust!), and we usually end up chatting to some real hotties and having a bit of a boogie on the dancefloor. With some great late night eating establishments nearby for afterwards, the Roxy is a venue that you don’t want to miss. Peace x.

I really dislike this place. I’d just finished the end of my A-Levels with some good schoolfriends of mine, and what better way to celebrate than a night on the town?! So we drank some wkds at home and headed out around 11.30 to the Roxy, as I’d heard really good things about it from my younger sister. When we got inside it was really badly lit and dingy, plus the music was terrible – loads of awful ‘pop hits’ from the last couple of years that a 14 year old might listen to. We thought we’d stay – we were celebrating, after all – and so we went to get some cocktails at the bar, and started to a dance. As the night went on it got progressively worse – there were some nice guys our age who we danced with for a while, but these other older guys just kept coming over and trying to feel us up. They were just doing the rounds on the dancefloor and kept coming back to us, which was so disgusting. I really got the impression they were regulars from the way they spoke to the staff there. People had been smashing glasses and bottles so were basically crushing glass we moved and the whole dancefloor basically became a crowded, caged zoo where men were just feeling me up all the time. One of the older guys kept trying to whisper to me about how he’d just been pissing all over the floor in the bathroom. Ugh! We ended up leaving at about 1.30 and going to McDonalds. In short, don’t go to the Roxy!!

Went last Tuesday night with a friend for chill drinks after work. I liked the venue and the general atmosphere. The staff was really friendly and helpful. And the drinks were pretty reasonably priced for Central London. WIll definitely visit again.

Awesome venue, not too expensive. Music hits the beat and safe. Although I have only been her 3 times I think of the place as a home. Would very well recommend.

Me and my girlfriends always come here for a night out! Any time before 11 PM seems pretty laid-back and not a big crowd. Once 11PM hits, it's packed! We've been on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The only thing that changes is the DJ. Crowded almost every night we've been there, regardless of the music or night of the week. Definitely a favorite of mine!

Tucked away from the hustle of Oxford Street, this intimate and fun bar, got me giggling till morning. Our company held their Christmas party here, and there is no need to say how it all went down. There was a kick about everything, especially my little tiny penis wine cork. Funny thing is no one told me who was behind this joke!
