I've been to Bat and Ball a couple of times now and both times it's been a lot of fun. There's a wall of other items you can use instead of bats, such as a colander or pan which keeps the game interesting! If you ask for a jug of beer for beer pong they will provide plenty of plastic cups and cups of carbonated water to wash the balls in. Only criticism I would have is that there isn't always a staff member at the upstairs bar where the ping pong tables are, but if you ask around someone generally turns up! Would definitely recommend this as a fun alternative to a normal bar or somewhere to drink in the day without being judged!.... Sophie visited The Bat And Ball on 18 Feb 2017

Great space particularly as it was not busy upstairs when we attended. The service upstairs was dismal-we were essentially left to get on with it ourselves which included getting drinks, taking back dirty glasses and reminding the staff that we still hadn't received all the food we had ordered for lunch which resulted in cold pizza as I presume it had been sitting downstairs waiting for collection The staff spent the whole time we were there-about 2 hours on their computers and ignored us most of the time visited The Bat And Ball on 15 Feb 2017

Great area and place to go. My boyfriend and I went here initially to play table tennis. However, ended up getting drinks and food which were very reasonably priced and the food was great! Really good atmosphere, would definitely suggest it for friends and family. visited The Bat And Ball on 14 Feb 2017

Booked a team building night here for 18. Excellent booking service from the team made it easy to plan, food and cocktails on the evening were tasty and kept everyone happy from vegan to halal. The atmosphere was great even on a Sunday evening. Music, sports tv, and an interesting mix of people ensuring a lively night out. The layout of tables upstairs meant you could easily chat to other players or watch games from the bar seating. The ping pong was great fun, our Games master Ivan was brilliant. He created a fun atmosphere but somehow managed to keep 18 of us in line and very patient when explaining the rules (sometimes repeatedly! ) I would highly recommend to anyone to visit the Bat and Ball. Thanks for a great night. visited The Bat And Ball on 12 Feb 2017

Great night out, recommend booking a Games Master for an hour and then an hour by yourselves. Games Master didn't arrive at the beginning of our session, as planned, which was a bit confusing but once she arrived it was fun all the same! We booked 2 hours for 12 people on one table and it was perfect, apart from the chairs that kept being dragged out the cupboard behind us, which kept interrupting us and ate into our timeslot because someone else was booked in directly after us. Music and atmosphere was fab, we all want to go again!! You may be asked for ID upon entering too, so go prepared. visited The Bat And Ball on 11 Feb 2017

My review for our visit on 11/02/2017 Tonight has probably been one of the worst experiences I have ever had in any establishment. The evening started when we queued up to enter the Bat and Ball and was asked for ID. Myself and our party are mostly in our 30's & 40's so we clearly did not need to be asked for ID. The manner of the individuals at the door was terrible and this was commented on by many members of our party one of which is a met police officer. The ID was clearly to find out age and not in the way that nightclubs/bars are needing them to keep on record so this proves that none of us really needed to be bothered by this. Also I was shocked that we were being asked as after all the emails we have been sending not once was it mentioned in any email that we may need to provide this. Upon entry we were told to go upstairs and to speak to someone up stairs. So we all went upstairs and then we were sent back downstairs to sit at an area reserved for 25 of us although there was only enough seats to comfortably seat 18. The next complaint is one which has completely and utterly annoyed me to the point that it has brought me to send this email. I have to point out that 25 of us came along tonight to celebrate my husbands 37th birthday. We wanted to enjoy our evening and have a light hearted, fun evening with our family and friends. My brother arrived shortly after 9pm, he like the rest of us was asked by the two complete idiot male & female door staff to show ID so he showed his ID. He was then told to remove his cap and walk into the bar area and then walk back to the door so he did this but then he was asked to do it again but to roam around the bar area a bit. Then for no apparant reason a male door person grabbed my brother by his wrist area and walked back to the door and asked to stand on the mat. In the mean time both male and female door staff were very, very rude. My brother found this whole experience humiliating so he left and got back in his car and drove home. He did this to prevent causing any problems with the staff and to prevent runing the evening for the rest of us. How dare anyone be made to feel like this? What kind of people do you have employed there? The worst thing is I also had birthday cards to give to my brother from his nieces and nephews as he has been away and we missed his birthday. My brother phoned me to tell me what happened so I spoke to the manager who was extemely apologetic and agreed that the way the evening was going was awful so she asked me what I would like to happen. At this point I would have quite happily left but with 24 people that had all come out for my husband where could we go? So we all stayed even though everyone was aware that something was wrong. The manager offered to give us free food and I accepted. She also brought over an extra table and some chairs so the rest of our party could sit down. The one thing no one could improve was the rude manner of the waitresses that we had. When we did question them for things they said things like "I am just one person" "its busy here tonight and I am one person on my own", when we wanted to order some drinks for members of our party that were sitting on a box next to our table she replied "i asked what you wanted on your table not what they wanted". We went upstairs because I had originally booked 2 x table tennis for 1 hour. Again I was happy to leave but others wanted to play. When I was asked.to pay £50 for the table I refused due to the way we had been treated. Again the manager agreed this was fair. At the end of the evening the waitress brought my husbands cake to the wrong party. I only noticed this when I heard the table next to us singing happy birthday to our cake! So the waitress clearly embarressed let my husband blow out his candles and then ran off. I am sending this as a complaint about your staff and their obvious lack of training. The staff members you have on the door are ridiculous and not proffesional at all. The manager was genuinely concerned. visited The Bat And Ball on 11 Feb 2017

Poor customer service from the Supervisor on shift. I placed a food order for £137.50 and politely asked the question is there anything you could do on the price as I will be getting rounds for a group of 17 throughout the night as it was my wife's birthday, the supervisor basically had a go at me and made me feel like crap. He explained people spend more money than you and this is a normal price for a round. I was literally only after a simple yes or no as I had already paid £60 for the a ping pong table and then placed a further drinks order for £61.50 and did this on 4 more occasions throughout the night. Bar staff can not keep track on whose next to serve so basically every time I tried to place a drinks order it took me over 25-30 min+. All the food I had ordered went to a different table and my £137.50 food order turned out to be 3 fries which later the person took one back saying that it was another tabled order. When I eventually got my food it was in 5-6 stages and even then I had to chase up food. The only person who looked like they know what they were doing were the bouncers and a young lady called Tia who was superb and efficient in looking after us. Toilets also don't get checked regularly enough as someone decided they would throw up in the troth which was left throughout the night. Ping pong was a good laugh. I did order a games master but was told on the night I would not be getting one. Still had a wicked night only due to the people in our group. visited The Bat And Ball on 04 Feb 2017

I organised my Manager's leaving do and Bat & Ball was the perfect place to end it. We all had a fantastic time and the DJ had a massive part to play as we all sang and danced the night away. I probably wouldn't have a birthday here again on a weekend. Music was too loud (more suitable for a club/dancing environment than conversation). While the booking process was super smooth, friendly and responsive, at the venue itself, and this is because of how very busy it was, I had to do a lot of running back and forth myself to get the tennis table, food, etc sorted. We eventually left and moved the party elsewhere. For table tennis itself, its a great place and loads of fun. And the food is pretty good. visited The Bat And Ball on 03 Feb 2017

I booked a playtable and a gamemaster for sat afternoon. My sons 15th birthday and he plays national table tennis league... so he loved it. The atmosphere is welcoming. The staff were lovely. Very accomodating and helpful. My boy wants a job hete now as a gamesmaster ! He loved it. Food was lovely an pizzas amazing... only thing i would say it the menu is a bit limited and chips are gery expensive. Considering a lovely hand made pizza is around £9. I think £5 for a bucket of chips that werent very nice was a bit steep.... (husband isxa head chef in the city so is critical of food but loved the pizza). but apart from that was a fantastic place. We booked our birthday party at the Bat and Ball and had a semi-private area behind the bar. Our guests loved the venue which has a really good vibe to it. We'd been to Bounce the 2 years before, and in comparison we loved how much space there was, so you could properly enjoy a game of ping pong and beer pong. The beer pong in particular was fun and different, and a great activity for a larger group of people to do together. The bar wasn't too busy and it was easy to get served quickly, the drink prices are high but inline with what you get charged at most fancy London places. To top it off, we were given a free bottle of Prosecco as a birthday treat. We certainly won't hesitate to go back again in the future. My only negative point would be that we were initially quoted a crazy minimum spend when trying to book the tables. They eventually agreed to not have it for us, I hope they drop this idea as it allows you to enjoy the night much more by not having to worry about it! visited The Bat And Ball on 21 Jan 2017

Place was perfect for my birthday and my friends had a fantastic evening! The two ping pong tables I booked upstairs were in a great area complete with a large table and long sofa. The music was great too, not too loud so you can actually socialise which each other (unlike Bounce). The place let me extend the booking for a couple more hours too which went down very well with everyone. Only criticism was that I had a few friends saying they waited an hour for their food and the deposit/booking system was quite confusing, but fortunately they negotiated. All and all great night and great place. Thank you. visited The Bat And Ball on 20 Jan 2017

10/10. Had a great evening for a team Christmas Party. Started off with free drinks on arrival as we'd booked before October, had a Mixology lesson and two cocktails (extra cost) which was a great way to start off the afternoon followed by Games Master taking control of our group for Beer Pong and Ping Pong Tournament, then went downstairs for lunch (had the tables for 2hrs, just right amount of time) where we swapped our secret santas and did our Christmas quiz and then back upstairs for more drinking and dancing to the DJ ! Friday was a great night ! Thanks everyone ! Staff were very accommodating. visited The Bat And Ball on 16 Dec 2016

I helped organise a work Christmas party at The Bat and Ball. Having been before, I knew of the venue with its two levels and the table tennis which again I thoroughly enjoyed. To those who haven't been, it is a spacious and fun area. We had a thoroughly enjoyable night - the only reason this hasn't received a 5 was that I didn't find that, even as a party of 50, we were really paid much attention to (e.g. our desserts for the food we ordered were forgotten until prompted and a number of drinks were cleared away when we were still at the venue). visited The Bat And Ball on 14 Dec 2016

We booked a company Christmas party at the Bat and Ball. Overall the night was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. We avoided the xmas menu and had the pizzas, wings and ribs which went down a storm and there was loads of food! A few niggles though, we had pre-ordered drinks and were told as we booked so far in advance that there would be a glass of prosecco on arrival. When I arrived, fifteen mins after our allocated arrival time, there were other people in our booked area and no welcome drinks to be seen which meant that the colleagues who had arrived before me had had to buy their own drinks, which wasn't the idea. We had also book a gamesmaster, who didn't turn up. We were given a five minute warning on our table tennis tables at half 9 and I pointed out that the gamesmaster we had booked hadn't even been over yet, and so they sent somebody over then to start our beer pong tournament. Some of the pizzas also arrived unsliced which makes them tricky to share. Overall I would definitely recommend them for a big gathering but they just need to finesse their service a bit, so the party organiser can relax along with the rest of the party and not spend the night chasing things up! visited The Bat And Ball on 10 Dec 2016

We had two tables for 16 People with a Games Master. We thought the second table was wasted, We had to ask him to set us up on the second table with Beer Pong. We were expecting a more inclusive set of games some of us only got to play one game. Overall a good night out. visited The Bat And Ball on 14 Nov 2016

We arrived and was sent upstairs as I had booked. When we arrived upstairs we were sent back downstairs as I had booked for food. We were given option of sitting upstairs at the tables with stools which we didn't want. Our table wasn't reserved downstairs, but we were allowed to choose one of three benches that were free. I'm afraid two of my party were not well after their meal, one had chips and chilli beef and the other had nacho's with the chilli beef, so we assumed the something must have been wrong with the chilli beef which is why we have given a low score :( All of us (9 people) did not like the benches as they did not move, it meant moving people to get out or some couldn't even get out until they slid to the edge, if they could fit the legs between the gaps! A few of us had skirts on not very lady like, but then maybe we should have come dressed more sporty. One Waitress dropped white sauce down a friends back by accident, she did clear it up and was very apologetic. I personally had the pizza and really enjoyed it, as did two others who chose pizza. The ping pong looks great but we did not want to play on that occasion. Our waitress was lovely and had a great memory who we did tip despite our experience. Sadly with so many restaurants in Westfield, I doubt we'll be back in a hurry :( but I do hope you take this as feedback to improve and not in a totally negative way. visited The Bat And Ball on 08 Nov 2016

Normally I really like this place, but this Saturday was the first time we decided to book a table to watch the match as I specifically request. They gave as a really nice table in front of the screen but it happened that after we ordered the food and drinks they showed the match with not sound which it was so disappointing (Added to that we had to pay in advance that never happened and drink in plastic glasses). Then we had to move with all our food and stuffs to a room in a really small table and it was really cold.... visited The Bat And Ball on 05 Nov 2016

It was only let down by the very poor lighting which got dimmer at 6pm. We were told the staff couldn't do anything about it, but how are supposed to play in very poor light?? visited The Bat And Ball on 01 Nov 2016

The night started off like this, we had 2 tables booked at 8 pm. The tables were handed over to us but there were so many people around the table it made it impossible to play properly and not to mention that the light was bad, no where near enough to play table tennis without struggling to see the ball. After we played for on e hour we booked a different table for another hour. We went there to get our table and there were 8 fellas, very drunk, playing beer pong . . . beer all over the table and because they double booked that table we couldn't get it in time. The staff was not very helpful in this situation. After finally getting the table when we were about to start playing they switched off even the poor lights, so at this point we just had some ambient lights which made it impossible to play. Thinking this is a mistake or something we went to the staff and asked them for the lights to be switched back on. At this point the woman that was doing the booking started to laugh at us and told us that they can't and that it's Saturday night. After this I asked why would they take our money for a ping pong table and not give us the opportunity to play, after half an our they agreed to give us a refund for the last table and we went in Shoreditch. Conclusion ? Awful and expensive place to play ping pong but might be ok if you looking for drinks and snacks. visited The Bat And Ball on 22 Oct 2016

The upstairs area where our tables were was very hot. We spoke to the staff who said the heating was broken. It was extremely uncomfortable and we unfortunately had to stop playing after an hour instead of two. My first drink was also flat, and when I asked for a new drink the bartender argued with me about it, however another member of staff then replaced my drink. We also waited a very long time for our pizzas as we were forgotten about. visited The Bat And Ball on 21 Oct 2016

Mixed reviews to be honest.. I had a good time despite flaws in the service offered. I'm incredibly impressed with the young Asian lady at the door and she is a credit to your venue. It took a while before we actually got served at my table..fyi we waited so long that we actually went to the bar and order our drinks. The young lady servicing us was polite and professional at all times but was slow ;( we could have drunk a bit more but the follow up on our table was slow I'm afraid. Once we ordered our food which was basically 2 platters which only one came out. We queried this with the server which wasn't our waitress and she said she would check. After a while she didn't come back to us and I had to find the Asian lady to follow this up. Overall we kept on chasing to be served which slightly annoyed me but the food was great and overall not a bad night. visited The Bat And Ball on 14 Oct 2016

I visited on A Saturday afternoon with a group booking. The place itself is good, the seating areas around the table are a little awkward with no place to put drinks. However good ambience and fun games. Now the bad bit, we were told booking could be extended once at the venue, when we arrived we were told someone had booked our table for half hour after we finished, which was no problem and the person serving said as long as you don't over run into the time of the next person - I said we would be off within 15 minutes of our time so they can do the necessary, all happy so far. Then we are having fun playing beer pong and an incredibly rude lady came to our table and said without introduction "you have 5 minutes to get off" I looked at my watch and it was exactly 5 minutes to our time run out, but I told her what the other lady that worked there said - no worries if we slightly over run - just be aware someone has it book for half hour over our time so ok to overrun but don't take the p. The new lady then returned and said "ok your time is up now, finish your game and get off" I asked her if she spoke to the other lady and she said "we are trying to run a business here" I then informed her that our group were all paying customers and contributing greatly to her business that night, she raised her eyebrows and trotted off. I immediately moved from the table at the request and proceeded to finish our drinks at the bar, where were observed our table sitting empty and untouched for 20 minutes, by staff. The next group arrived a full 15 minutes after that. Would have gone back to this place almost monthly with a large group, but now because of this staff member attitude and condescending behaviour we will not go back. Majority of other staff members were friendly and helpful but this one is letting the side down. ry_no16 visited The Bat And Ball on 08 Oct 2016
