SATURDAY nights at Floridita London, LOS PADRINOS DE SALSA, featuring the finest and most established live salsa & boogaloo bands in the UK. Paying homage to the days of La Fania, and to some of the best music ever written for dancing.
Los Cabrones (2nd May 2015)
Los Cabrones, a new project from the Cuban musician, Rene Alvarez (Sur Caribe, Cuban Combination, Trovatur). Paying homage to some of the best Salsa music from the last 40 years, Los Cabrones set the dancefloor alight with classics from Ray Barreto, the Fania All stars, Eddie Palmieri & more. Keeping with the ethos of La Fania, the band is comprised of some of the best musicians in the UK, all of them dedicated to the art of Salsa & boogaloo.
Los Charlys Orchestra (9th May 2015)
Over the past few years LCO had produced a series of songs that have truly become modern times classics. The songs: "My Barrio & Al Ritmo Del Latin Funk" have been given the recognition by entities & personalities such as NME, Craig Charles (BBC6), Joey Negro, Dimitri from Paris & Norman Jay in between many others due to their authenticity. Come to their Floridita London to catch this truely vibrant Boogaloo Latin band twice a month.
Manteca (16th May 2015):
Manteca are one of the finest latin groups in the UK today. Their debut release on Freestyle Records "Tremendo Boogaloo" received rave reviews from all over the world with Fat City describing it as "dancefloor latin jazz tracks which will make even the most stubborn wallflower shake their hips". Bringing their own unique medley of salsa, boogaloo, cumbia, Funk, jazz & soul, Manteca promises to fill the dance floor and induce all manner of feverish, slinky moves, even if you’ve never danced salsa before!
