Finding somewhere that serves decent beers and proper cocktails can often seem like an impossible task. Head to a swanky hotel bar and you’re more likely to find a gin-fuelled Martini than a perfect pint. Get comfortable in a charming boozer, and it’s usually about ales over aperitifs. But that?s…
A divine hero of Greek mythology, Hercules, was said to be a mischievous, yet daring and fearless warrior. Leading by its namesake, Hercules in Soho is a dynamic cocktail pub created for spirited fun and revelry.
Originally built in 1733, Hercules today combines the past with the present, in the sympathetically restored historic venue which combines the best of the pub with a cocktail bar. Serving up a distinctive cocktail list designed by Hercules’ Charles Roche and the bar team, Hercules holds that I know a small place feel which focuses on great service and creating space for meaningful interactions.
The interiors include a copper inlaid bar with the taps under the bar ensure the barrier between guest and bartender is kept to a minimum. And because, some could argue he’s our modern-day Hercules, high above the bar sits an image of a young Arnold Schwarzenegger encaptured in all his stained-glass glory.
