Celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop… and still looking for the perfect beat? Look no further!
Great Adventures have brought together a dope line-up of DJs and MCs to bring to the block party vibes to Juju’s!
First up for role-call – the DJs!
Underground beat king Evil Ed will be diggin’ in the crates to give us all a taste of the secret sauce behind production credits for the likes of Jehst, Task Force and Triple Darkness.
Boot Records boss Jazz T – fresh from touring with The Four Owls – will be spinning a selection of funk, soul and jazz alongside new and classic rap tracks to keep the party moving.
And South London Soul Train resident Oneofakind will be on hand with his eclectic blend of dusty digs – from beloved classics and forgotten gems – right through to unheard exclusives and brand new drops. Expect rare grooves and raw beats.
So, that’s the two turntables covered – what about the microphone?
Back from gracing Glastonbury’s main stage with South London jazz mavericks Speakers Corner Quartet, Peckham’s very own Confucius MC will be grabbing the mic to show us all why Kae Tempest describes him as “a huge influence on my life, my character and my rhyme-style”.
And finally, emerging from the shadowy depths of Camden Lock – think Swamp Thing meets Mud Fam – young rapper Jiovani.Jemndi will be showcasing his sharp tongue and infectious vibes, representing a new generation of North London lyricists.
