ABOUT MATT STORM
Vancouver’s Matt Storm has been self-producing his own brand of Alt-Soul since 2017, fusing elements of Jazz and Soul with Alternative Indie sounds. Blazing his own trail over the years, Matt has built a sound that is both unique and different and at the same time familiar and accessible. His live performance showcases his ability to slide between genres, gracefully hopping from head-nodding Neo-Soul grooves to catchy downtempo Alternative bops, all woven together with his signature storytelling and lyricism, drawing comparison to the likes of Jordan Rakei and Tom Misch.
2023 brought about a new era for Matt. Two new tracks reveal a more refined and subtly psychedelic sound as Matt’s culmination of experience over his 7 year journey as a recording artist and producer come to a head. With an upcoming EP “SPILT” set to release in 2024, Matt has spent the majority of the year touring around Canada and beyond, including Toronto’s NXNE as well as a 5-show tour in Slovakia, and will be finishing off the year with performances in the UK.
