Join us for an epic alternative to Burns Night hosted by the ultimates in mashing up tradition - Compass Box!
Creators of unconventional whisky, this night will involve loads of their delicious whisky, intricate food pairings & some stirring spoken word.
Enjoy a Highball on arrival as Compass Box Brand Ambassador Grant Neave introduces you to the brand. Then tuck into a tapas style menu pairing food with the following whiskies:
1. Hedonism
2. Great King Street Artists Blend
3. Spice Tree
4. Story of the Spaniard
5. Great King Street Glasgow Blend
6. Peat Monster
Each whisky will be paired with a specific food offering which may contain meat, fish or dairy. We can include a list of allergies per pairing. However, we are unable to accommodate dietary requirements for each pairing. Should you be vegan, vegetarian or gluten free let us know and we can provide you with some of our delicious padron peppers and chips.
Before you go you'll get to try a sample of a Limited Edition Compass Box as well.
The tasting consists of EIGHT exquisite Compass Box whiskies.

Nestled behind a Dickensian pub frontage opposite the iconic Tea Building in Shoreditch, Bull in A China Shop is a contemporary Asian-inspired all-day restaurant and specialist whisky bar. Our extensive whisky selection boasts over 150 select Japanese and Scotch whiskies to be enjoyed as a cocktail, neat or in a highball with hand carved ice. Our cocktail menu includes an Old Fashioned that was lauded by Time out as top 3 in London and an Espresso Martini that the Evening Standard put in its top 5. A subtle hint of the Orient runs throughout our cosy 40-seater restaurant – you’ll be welcomed by atmospheric lighting and velvety banquettes against whitewashed brick walls alongside an eclectic collection of oriental ornaments. Our menu features eggs benedicts, superfood salads, charcoal bun sandwiches and Asian spiced whisky glazed rotisserie chicken.

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
