Tess Ward is a chef and food writer. Having trained at Le Cordon Bleu, she has also worked in the kitchens at River Cottage, Harwood Arms and is now running her own private catering company and hosting cooking classes all over London.
Her event 'Burnt Toast' is a celebration of hand-crafted breads and fresh seasonal cooking, and brings a taste of artisan British food to London over the Easter weekend. Expect a riot of art on the walls, gingham, bunting, herb bouquets, overflowing baskets of bread with fresh rye, spelt, sprouted bread and an array of different sourdoughs. There will be toasters on the tables, for individual toasting, cocktails in jam jars and arty mismatched decorations.
Tickets include a welcome cocktail, three course meal and coffee.
‘Tess has a passion for food. She understands the importance of good quality, provenance and flavour. She will go far.’
- Gill Meller, Head Chef at River Cottage
