Mark's Bar Soho

Description

The basement bar of HIX restaurant, Mark's bar in Brewer Street Soho is a cool apothecary cocktail bar. A slightly secretive place, it is almost hidden behind a huge solid wooden door and frosted windows. The first thing you notice, when walking inside, is the long and low zinc bar that runs the length of the room and is packed with the young darlings of Soho. Mark's has a lovely atmosphere, full of old school charm enhanced by a bar billiards table, smokey mirrors and leather chesterfields. Under the dimmed lights couples can get snug and enjoy an intimate drink together

The cocktails are fantastic for taste and variety and are mixed by a bartender superstar Nick Strangeway (formerly of the Hawksmoor). Celebrating historical quirks his drinks are innovative and simple at the same time and include a wide selection of seasonal ingredients for an average price of £8-10 pounds. This is the perfect place for chilling with mates, in both big and small groups, and for intimate date nights.

Mark's get hired out a lot for private parties, so they suggest calling and checking that they are open to the public before planning your visit.

They have a no reservations policy at Mark's. But you can come early and stay late, they're open until 1am.
