Saturday 31 December 2016

Anise is a chic, Indian-inspired cocktail bar, that is hugely popular with the Square Mile after work drinking crowd. Situated close to Liverpool Street in the stunning Devonshire Square, Anise marries the industrial heritage of the old East India Company building in which it is housed, with a contemporary and suave decor. Boasting a great selectin of cool cocktails, including stylish spice-infused tipples, coupled with modern Indian-inspired bar snacks. As well as bar snacks, larger dishes can be found at exotic, conjoining restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen, which boasts celebrity chef Vivek Singh as Executive Chef.

Inside there are intimate, candle-lit booths that can be reserved, perfect for a party night or get together with friends and combined with the stunning cocktail selection, and buzzing atmosphere, Anise is the perfect bar if you fancy something a little stylish in The City.

***From October - December 2016, Anise will be transformed into a glamorous Winter Palace***

Open from 5pm daily* for after-work wind-downs and glamorous weekend drinking sessions. Join us in Devonshire Square, and work your way up the twinkling candlelit staircase to Anise, where you’ll be met by our magnificent & gorgeous white Bengal tiger – great for a photo opportunity on your arrival. The glamorous bar is decked in candles, whilst glistening crystal chandeliers hang above our cosy seating areas which are covered with soft furs, blankets and cushions setting the Winter-glam scene.

Our area was well kept for our arrival and service was prompt and setup a relaxing atmosphere for us to socialise. visited Anise on 14 Oct 2016

Held an event at the Anise bar on Tuesday 4th October 2106. Great food and drink, great support from very helpful staff and overall a great event. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped make the event a great success.

Very disappointing Having received the email invite to visit the Bazaar I booked over a month ago and specified this in the comments section, arranged with friends to trek there on a quiet Sat evening (with confirmation email the day before) only to be told on arrival Anise was shut for a private event!! We were then offered on our insistence after the manager Pravin checked my emails to see if I was indeed telling the truth that we could have 10% off the dining bill in the main restaurant. Needless to say, we declined and took our business elsewhere. I have now unsuscribed from the email list for Anise and won't be visiting again. Bookings and comments should be checked before sending confirmation and when the venue has made a mistake, an apology or a drink to reflect the effort of coming there and then having to go elsewhere is the least you would expect from a well run establishment. Perhaps more training for the manager is indicated. Dr Tarun Gupta tgupta1980 visited Anise on 04 Jun 2016

Really cool bar, the cocktails are really well made, nice atmosphere, not that big though. The benefits are you can go to the restaurant afterwards, which is ideal because the food there is also great! The bar is inside Devonshire square area, which is a group of buildings all covered by glass which means you can drinks 'outside' without getting wet if its raining. Really cute and fun bar!

The Food was disgusting and i found plastic in my cock-tale I have never ate worst food than that. the bar was £100 for a 100ml bottle of Louis Vuitton The catering was 5/10 =1/2 of the trip

Really cool little bar. I haven't tried the restaurant next door yet though. The bar isn't cheap but I liked the quirky little bar snacks and the cocktails are pretty special.

Had a martini here with lychee, pistachio and coriander in it! Was a little sceptical that it would work but it really did. Love the Indian-inspired twist to the snacks and drinks.. makes a nice change from other cocktail bars

Amazing wednesday and Thursday night crowd. Spice infused cocktails and the best bit is the bar food they have. Scrumptious and reasonably priced being in the city and surrounded by some top contenders. They also have some great deals on through the week so check out their website before you book a booth. Sometime you also get free canapes platter for group bookings..pretty awesome right?

Had an awesome night here: I met a wonderful girl, we got really good cocktails and had a great time. I'm still happy cause I didn't check my credit card balance the day after ;)

Anise is great to visit for a night cap after having dinner upstairs at Cinnamon Kitchen. Anise's cocktails have a really cool indian twist but they are quite pricey!
