Great Lunch with the family and friends Nice selection from the wine list Staff first class GO THERE visited The Whippet Inn on 16 Oct 2016

Great experience as usual. Good attentive service despite being pretty short of staff. Food was a bit slow as a result but is worth it - always interesting ingredients and high quality. Never had a bad meal here. Also not too noisy so good for a catch-up! Sophferocious visited The Whippet Inn on 12 Oct 2016

Been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. Staff are riendly and the food is very good (the Sunday Roast excellent). It is a bit expensive, but no more expensive than any of the other pubs in the area and i think the service and quality of food is better. I love the chorizo croquettes, and whilst the draught beer isn't massive, they have some really good bottled beers. Lovely!

potential great. execution poor. shame lovely area, great places in the area already and was hopeful about this new joint opening up. even after a few months the staff seem uninterested and aloof. also tends to be a crèche on the weekend. if you have bouncy toddlers, probably for you.

Came here on my last night of my 5 week backpacking trip with my best friends and had a blast! From the moment we came in, everyone was super friendly. Food is amazing! I definitely recommend the chicken dish. The manager was so nice. Took the time to talk to us about our trip and even recommended some cool spots for the next time we come to London. Would definitely come back again!

I went to the Whippet Inn tonight and have done on many occasions. I would go as far to say its my local. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. We sat in the garden and had the cod and lamb curry. Definitely a place to go for a chilled atmosphere and good food.

The true gastronomic Mecca - a lively and exciting atmosphere paired with delicious food and INCREDIBLE service. Not only am I incredibly picky, but my other half is also lactose intolerant, and yet it felt (for once) that every single one of their customers were on the same wavelength. Its all to rare (excuse the pun) that waiters actually listed to how you would like your steak to be cooked, but when I asked for mine to be "very rare" it was not only cooked as such but also stood as the absolute reason for why anyone would ever want something cooked so lightly. The wine was just as good, and by the time we left we had already booked in the time to return - This Thursday in fact!

Drinks are overpriced (cheapest bottle of wine was £18.00) and the manager was incredibly rude!,,. The bar closed at 12am, the manager came over and barked at us and the remaining customers to drink up and go as we're closing now!, such an off hand way to talk to customer's who'd spent a substantial amount of money there, and quite frankly with so many pubs and bars going out of business, showing such contempt for your customers is certainly not conducive to staying in business!, as we were leaving the manager even had the gall to snatch drinks out of customer's hands even though they hadn't finished, saying 'i told you we're closing now,' unbelievable!, certainly won't be returning there anytime's a shame really because the other staff are v good, and friendly, but the price of the drinks and especially the awful manager really bring down the whole tone of the establishment. If they lower the prices a little and bring in a new manager it could really be a great little bar. I second all the comments below in saying sack the manager! #get the manager out now.

Bar tender is fast and efficient. Can't say the same for the manager who is rude and arrogant. Steak is nice however the rest of the food is bland and needs seasoning. I would also say the cost is 'happily not affordable'. It would be doing better if they season the food, reduce the prices and sack the manager. #sack the manager.

Like some of the other reviews here, I find the Whippet disappointing. We've given it a few goes trying to be fair and hoping for better next time, it being very local to where we live. Have eaten there twice, the steak is good but that's about it. The small plates are completely tasteless - quite an achievement! Went for drinks there at the weekend and the cheapest wine is about £18 btl - bought several bottles and shorts, spent a fair bit then got kicked out by miserable looking woman who I assume is the manager. She seriously needs to get some people skills. Rude woman snatched the drinks out of punters hands without previous warning. Was amazing would give Basil Fawlty a run for his money!! The Whippet is really not as good as it thinks it is. Need to up their game or people will just not come back.

Looks good, goes down like a sack of s*** unfortunately. The food is disappointing, service is sloooooow and not all that friendly. My friend and I sat at a table for four at 3pm when there was only one other table seated but were asked to move by the waitress (we pointed out that they were dead and said we'd move if they needed the table, busy times, fine but unacceptable when you have two other tables for four, we were also planning on sharing lots of things and the tables for two were tiny). She proceeded to take fifteen minutes to come back to us to take our order, some of that time was spent standing aimlessly at the bar, literally doing nothing, didn't even have the excuse of being distracted by a conversation with someone else… Just about existing was all she could manage to do. Finally came over, probably feeling my friend's stare focussed on her (and my glare)… Couldn't really explain the food menu to us, food came out, it was okay, substandard, made to sound more exciting than it actually was by some fancy and verbose wording on the menu. When our table was cleared with most of the several plates we'd ordered still more than half full, no conversation was made, no questions were asked. This charming experience set us back £71 (four small plates and one drink each - a pint of bitter and a large glass of wine + service which we were too embarrassed to ask to be taken off). All in all, it didn't really seem like the staff wanted to be there, and, less than halfway in, we didn't want to be either.

Appalling selection of beers - not one decent larger. Still got uncomfortable swivel seats. Staff very friendly - manager rude and indifferent. Doesn't beat the chamberlayne which is not setting the bar that high! Kensal rise deserves better!

This place looks really good, I'm definitely going to the opening tomorrow night. The food menu looks really nice with a good selection of drinks to go along with it.
