Description

The Shop is more than your run-of-the-mill indie bar in London, it's the type of place that you can pop into for a quick drink and head out of with a table... and that's not some kind of analogy, this is a cocktail bar-cum-curiosity shop - literally everything in here is for sale!

Step into this quirky spot in Kensal Rise and feast your eyes upon a room filled with eccentric ornamentation - all of which you could be taking home. They've really gone for that 'elegant slumming' vibe, with furniture, fixtures and fittings all sourced from homes who no longer wanted them. Sprinkled into the mix is some trendy modern art, just to spruce the place up a bit.

Following this theme of 'giving convention the middle finger', cocktails are served up in milk bottles and jam jars - and best of all, they start off at a fantastic £3.50! You'll find a list of unique concoctions whipped up by head barman, Rikki Broderick. Look out for the signature piece, the 'Once Loved' - Kraken rum, Coco Lopez, pineapple juice and creme de Abricot.

A few of our friends went to The Shop for food and drinks a few days ago to celebrate my birthday - it was perfect. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, the cocktails dangerously delicious and the food very tasty (although watch out for the chicken wings: they have quite a kick!). We all had a great evening and will definite be back. Many thanks to The Shop! x visited The Shop on 14 Jul 2017

The barman/waiter, Jake, was very welcoming and friendly. I've visited The Shop on a previous occasion for cocktails, but came specifically this time for the Nanny Bill's pop-up having read about it on social media. My companion and I were very happy with the quality of the food and presentation... it was exactly what we had hoped for. We particularly enjoyed the mac 'n cheese croquettes, halumi bites and triple cooked chips which were excellent. My only concern was the amount of time we had to wait for the food to arrive. It was a very quiet night on Wednesday and, in fact, when we arrived there was only one other table of diners and a couple of people sitting at the bar who later ordered food. We seemed to wait for an extraordinary length of time for our food to arrive and that left me with the impression that I probably wouldn't want to be there on another occasion when the kitchen was actually busy. However, I should say that this didn't detract from the warmth of the welcome or our enjoyment of the food (once it had finally arrived). visited The Shop on 03 May 2017

It was awful we booked a table for food on Monday morning, which was confirmed for that evening. made our plans, went to the restaurant. It was pouring with rain ten minutes before it opened. wasn't allowed in. We had to wait outside in the pouring rain. got in. and was then told they don't do food on bank holidays. We then said we had book a table for dinner and we were then told he had called forty minutes earlier. I hadn't checked my phone and it wouldn't have made a difference anyway as we were already in the area, which isn't exactly filled with good alternatives. Given that the reservation was confirmed about six or seven hours before we ate, it was a bit of a shoddy experience. visited The Shop on 01 May 2017
