Brought to you by The Lexi, Nomad Cinema is a roaming pop-up cinema with a difference; 100% of the Nomad's profits go to their chosen charity, The Sustainability Institute in South Africa. Since 2010, The Nomad has earned the reputation as ‘London’s best outdoor cinema’ (Evening Standard), popping up at an inspiring range of beautiful, curious and downright strange screening locations across London and beyond.
More than just providing screenings of great films in appropriately great locations, Nomad events immerse you in the flavour of the film, with added elements such as music, themed decorations, quality catering and a warm friendly welcome…
Homelanz (Boston Manor Park), now in its third year, is an annual one-day festival celebrating the best Southern Hemisphere music, entertainment, culture, food and drink. Held in a friendly, leafy corner of West London, it celebrated all things Antipodean for music lovers, culture vultures, foodies and wine buffs from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. This year, for the first time, Nomad are setting up on their patch for a spot of Aussie cinema in Priscilla! The screenings are not part of the festival, so please note that separate tickets are required for entry to the festival itself.
This delightful deluge of tack-a-rama tells the story of two drag queens and a transsexual woman on a journey in their gorgeous lavender bus from Sydney to Alice Springs to perform their show at a holiday resort. The characters are brazen, filthy and mischievous to say the very least and the journey is riotous and outrageous with more comical cattiness than you can shake a stick at.
