The magnificent Grace II* listed De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms can be found on Great Queen Street, that connects Covent Garden with Holborn in the West End of London.

With a rich and glorious history dating back to 1775, the building has long been an important event venue, and was once home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern before becoming a hotel in 1909.

Since it's inception, the venue has hosted some of the world‘s leading politicians, royalty and celebrities with its grand Georgian architecture and art-deco interiors offering 37 exceptional spaces for a wide range of conferences, exhibitions, meetings, training and weddings.

Arched ornate ceilings, beautiful wood-panelling and dramatic chandeliers, the Grand Hall creates an impressive event space for up to 750 guests theatre style and 1,500 guests for a drinks reception. For smaller events and private hires, the venue offers a number of beautifully designed executive rooms, equipped with original features and oak-panelling. Outside, on the 5th floor, an exclusive roof terrace, with views overlooking the city, is available for summer parties and private venue hire.

Five minutes from Covent Garden and Holborn tube stations and 30 minutes’ walk or short taxi ride from Kings Cross, St Pancras and Euston train stations, the venue is well-connected for all major London transport links. 

Free, superfast Wi-Fi with a maximum bandwidth of 1Gb is available throughout the venue.

For your event, we can offer you a drinks reception in Balmoral Suite followed by a dinner dance in Grand Hall.

The amazing Grand Hall boasts a 42-foot ceiling, imposing chandeliers and an arched Art Deco design. This space can accommodate up to 540 for a dinner, 440 for a dinner dance and 1,000 for a reception. The Balmoral Suite, adjacent to the Grand Hall has its own full service bar facilities and is the ideal space for your pre-dinner drinks reception or post-dinner entertainment. This Suite can cater for up to 500 for a reception or 200 for a sit down dinner.

The room can accommodate up to 400pax Cabaret style or 650pax theatre style, has disabled access and is located on the upper ground floor of our venue. This is the ideal room for your corporate meeting.

The Edinburgh Suite is located on the first floor of the venue, has natural daylight and is a perfect example of the unique architecture and heritage of the venue. This room can accommodate up to 250 guests for a banquet dinner or 200 for a dinner dance. The Drawing Room, located adjacent to the Edinburgh Suite has a dramatic and theatrical feel, magnificent lighting and a self-contained circular bar, ideal for pre- and post-event drinks. This room can accommodate up to 250 guests for a drinks reception.

The Cornwall Suite is located on the second floor of our venue, has natural daylight and is designed to create a real sense of wow with its intricate designs. The Cornwall Suite can accommodate up to 250 guests for a banquet dinner or 200 for a dinner dance. The breathtaking ornate domed ceiling and contemporary furnishings with decadent colours make the Crown Suite a perfect room for a drinks reception before your dinner. The Crown can accommodate up to 250 for a drinks reception and is perfectly situated next to the Cornwall Suite and can be used in conjunction with it.

The Ampthill Suite, adjacent to the Cambria Suite, has a gorgeous curved ceiling and is the ideal space for your pre-dinner drinks reception or post-dinner entertainment. This Suite can cater for up to 110 guests for a reception.
