Description

The elegant Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen is located in the heart of the West End, within a brief stroll of Tottenham Court Road.

The interior features an exposed brickwork design, low lighting and a slick, clean-cut feel that goes some way to creating a welcoming ambience. There's also an impressive Beer Garden perfect for enjoying a couple of drinks in the summer and alfresco dining. Exotic with a contemporary stance, Jerusalem is a dash of something different in the heart of the city's bustling West End.

The extensive Modern European menu features great strength in depth, and makes this place ideal for meeting for a light lunch with a friend as well as indulging a little more at dinner time. The venue operates an appealing happy hour between 4 and 8pm offering an assortment of great deals, suiting this place to those looking for a relaxing drink after work as well.

Burgers and chips were delicious as always from saucy chips, staff were attentive and helpful in offering advice on the menu and recommendations from the sauce selection! Brilliant playlist and atmosphere as well. Second visit and will be back again! visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 18 Jul 2017

The restaurant was totally empty and whilst ordering I asked the waitress to ask the chef to amend my burger and she said they were short staffed and to "do the chef a favour" and not ask for any change. The food was good but the service was awful. unexperienced staff making no effort in an empty restaurant. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 14 Jul 2017

Arrived to use a TimeOut voucher that I had pre-booked with the bar. Was told on arrival that the Bar and Kitchen team (Saucy Chip) had been having disagreements. The kitchen team had not turned up and it seemed this was an ongoing issue. It would have been good if I was warned of this before arriving. The bar staff were apologetic and offered me a drink. I am processing a refund for the voucher. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 15 Jul 2017

Service is terrible. It takes a long time to order the food. Once you try and order they tell you that the saucy chips that comes with the burger is actually plain chips even though it says saucy on the menu. To add saucy chips it is an additional £2. We ordered starters and mains. The starters arrived after the mains so we had to cancel the that. Also we had to wait a LONG time just for chips. The tables food did not arrive in one go. When we had finished eating, they wouldn't really clean up the plates. They would take one or two and come back 10 minutes later for the next couple of plates. We then did the mistake of ordering dessert. The menu said warm brownie. We had cold brownies in a sundae form. Which took 30 minutes to get. It was really not a nice dessert. We went to pay the bill, and the prices didn't match the menu. Which they went to correct. However, their menu needs to be updated apparently. Overall I would not go here for dinner. Maybe just chips and a drink. However, you would have to wait a long time. Jinaa visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 13 Jul 2017

Food was really excellent, especially the rock and roll chips. Servers were friendly and helpful but massively overstretched with also covering the bar. We, and several other tables, were waiting about half an hour to attract the attention of staff. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 13 Jul 2017

I made a booking on the lunchtime of the booking day knowing as it was Monday it would probably be easy to get. We turned up and had a chat with the barman when ordering drinks. I explained we had a booking from Timeout at 6.30 but would have a beer first before ordering. Upon asking to order around 45 mins later I was told that the kitchen was closed and we couldn't eat. Another staff member came over and advised that there had been some issue in the kitchen that day and therefore not open. Having worked in hospo for many years I understand these things happen and are unavoidable. What I don't understand is why I wasn't called and notified prior to my arrival? Given my contact number was confirmed at the time of booking surely I could have been given a courtesy call? We were the only people in there so it's not as though there was a longlist and we had simply been missed off. I travelled out of my way to use this voucher so it was a complete waste of time. The barman also could of notified me when we arrived but didn't bother to which also seems odd. We were offered a drink which we did take but couldn't enjoy as had leave half behind in order to find somewhere else last minute before our event. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 26 Jun 2017

Happy hour is quite deceptive. Cocktails are NOT half price. Just watered down jugs and tiny beer bottles. Setting was nice but DJ on a Friday was AWFUL. He thought we were in an underground house rave. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 02 Jun 2017

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and we are sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience with us, however we have never stated that Cocktails were part of the happy hour deal. The drinks on offer (as stated on our website) are Selected bottle beers £2.50, cocktail pitchers £12.50, Bottles of house wine £12.50. We have also been informed by Stu Jarvis, the General Manager that the DJ on Friday evening was playing a mixture of genres, mostly up-beat songs, so we are sorry if this was not to your personal taste but hope this minor detail doesn't stop you from visiting us again in the future. Thanks

Good burgers and chips but this experience was clouded by the fact that we were mis-sold our meal. We went using the timeout voucher which stated that we were entitled to one burger, one saucy chips and a glass of prosecco. What we actually received was a burger, half a glass of prosecco and not saucy chips but actually just plain chips. Service was good and would eat there again, but the voucher was mis-sold. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 17 May 2017

Complete car crash of a meal from beginning to end - I've had better service (and chips) in a ring road Beefeater. And if you order a main dish they come with chips but no sauces, you're pointed to a trolley of household condiments. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 12 May 2017

We came here for food and drinks. The food was nice but disappointing. It was fairly quiet when we ordered and it took about 30 minutes for the food to come. When it came out, we were told two chicken burgers by the waitress but after one of our party had their first bite it wasn't chicken but beef. We then sent it back and asked for a new one with the correct burger to be sent out. This part was disappointing as the chef refused to cook the incorrect meal first and put our missing burger at the end of all the orders for the night. Eventually about 45 minutes later it came out but by then all of us had finished sometime ago and the meal wasn't enjoyed by the person in our party as we were all frustrated with the kitchen. However, the manager did do her best to try and resolve the issues but we were disappointed with how the kitchen refused to move her meal up the orders. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 13 Apr 2017

Reserved area was ready and waiting and service was quick and good. Atmosphere was great if you are looking for a lively bar with good sounds. If you are looking for conversation, it may be a little loud. My only complaint was the 12.5% service charge which was automatically added which I only noticed the following day which on a bill of £260 was a tad steep. visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 26 Jan 2017

Good drinks area if you get a section at the back on the right where some couches are (on the platform above the dance floor!) Happy hour prices are great! Service a bit confusing as we couldn't always find our designated servers (we paid for some drinks for behind the bar upfront) but otherwise they were very helpful, nice and competent! Would recommend as it gets a bit rowdier on a Saturday night and is the perfect middle between bar and club visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 14 Jan 2017

Lovely place, nice decor, good food. All lovely! We even booked a table on the day, which was great for a Thursday night :) I felt like the music is too loud, we were a bunch of friends meeting to eat and chat. When the dj came in at 10pm - that was great, I get that, but before, while people eat and warm up, music should be a bit lower. otherwise everyone screams at each-other. :) visited Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen on 24 Nov 2016

Welcoming and knowledgeable staff; excellent ales; cavernous environment gave a pleasant feeling of informality. The quality and presentation of the food was four-star, and certainly equalled Simpsons in the Strand. Despite the nearness to Tottenham Court Road station, the price of food and wine was agreeable modest, as low in price as any provincial restaurant. Really nice little place, just lacks organisations and imagination. The bar itself is lovely, however they mucked up our booking, we had to wait to be served, then wait for someone to bring some glasses for our wine then wait for menus (we got them ourselves) we had to chase down someone to see where food was ... it was all very annoying. Menu didn't blow me away and when it arrived it was mainly microwaved things nicely presented- but were ok. We went here for the bottomless prosecco for £10 on a Monday. Booked at 6.30pm, Only table in there so no atmosphere. Once we sat we were told the prosecco only gets poured once your food arrives, and stops when you finish. Kind of defeats the point if you have to order a drink then once your food comes down your glasses whilst you eat. To be fair they were good at topping up. Food was very average. I wouldnt return for this deal. Plenty of other spots in the area and i'd just buy a bottle of prosecco and enjoy better food. All pics and chat on my London foodie blog Dishy Delishy.
