Description

Capturing the real essence of retro, Coin Laundry successfully creates an old-school ambience with a strong emphasis on the seventies. Nestled in Exmouth Market, this swinging saloon complete with kitsch knick-knacks showcases tipples and scrum to suit the old and young alike.

We had a fantastic visit on Sunday afternoon. I forgot the name of our waiter but he was brilliant and worked so hard to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The food was delicious and really reasonably priced. I'd definitely recommend and we'll be going back again soon. Thanks so much. Visited Coin Laundry on 2018-03-25

The room was freezing on arrival. Had to “suggest” turinung on the heating. Welcome was taciturn. Service: indifferent bordering on sullen. Food : mediocre. Really, an M&S hear-up chicken Kiev would have been more to the mark. Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-12-06

My boyfriend and I were invited back to Coin Laundry after a previous disappointing experience, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture in itself. Our minds were definitely changed and we had a wonderful evening. We were invited back for drinks and dinner - I highly recommend the tequila sunrise (tasty and strong!). The food was amazing and the portions more than generous. The restaurant was quite busy but the table service was still spot on. I’d highly recommend Coin Laundry - food, drink and service were amazing.

Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-09-23

Hi My sister and I had a great time having our lunch at 70s theme Coin Laundry. It was pre theatre lunch for Motown Musical and the food atmosphere and experience put us really into the 70s vibe. We had ordered prawn cocktail, pineapple and cheese skewers, fish fingers, onion rings, chips and orange juice. Service was great and we could not compliment enough of the whole interior layout of the restaurant. Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-09-21

Booked for the bottomless brunch for my birthday for 30 people, great communication up until the day, on arrival we were told that prosecco wasn't included in the bottomless brunch even though that's why I specifically choose Coin Laundry. Spoke with the manager and they agreed the to honour the arrangement so we were given prosecco on the tables. Food was average, a lot of it was cold and the avocado on toast wasn't great. For £10 it should be at least 2 slices of toast. The pancakes looked like the best option. We were a group of 30 people and understandable it was a lot for the staff to handle. They had another 2 big groups upstairs and they were clearly stressed from it. The reason they wanted to hold back on the prosecco is because they said they had a busy Sunday. I personally don't understand how they can change something like that on the day. Overall the experience wasn't bad it's just that a lot of places are doing brunch now and competition is high. I won't be returning to Coin Laundry as I think the food could be better and I didn't feel relaxed on the day. They kept on pressuring me to hurry up with the order, bill etc. when they had previously told me the downstairs would be our area. Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-04-08

We had heard really good reviews about Coin Laundry but we were disappointed. Firstly we had to wait about 40 mins for our table. They had mentioned to us previously there would be a possible delay but we said we would be there at the time of our booking and we had to wait ages. Secondly, we were told we could have prosecco but when we got there we actually were only allowed processo mixed with organe juice which seems pretty out of order. The food was lovely but the portions were tiny. In addition, they were terrible at refilling our glasses and since we had paid for two hours bottomless I'd expect refills to be quick. Finally, we got charged an extra £38 and even now we don't know why. Everyone had paid for what they had and we think they charged us for one extra meal and bottomless package. This was no ones fault but I think the waitress should have been more organised and not made this kind of mistake. We did pay the extra as we didn't want to argue but this was actually ridiculous. On the whole the place had a lovely atmosphere and I'm sure it's great for dinner/lunch but as far as bottomless goes it wasn't good. I apologise for the derogatory review and I never usually leave negative reviews but I feel it is important to relay his to your staff. Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-03-04

Staff were incredibly attentive, making sure no ones glass was left empty for too long. Food was yummy and the mimosas went down far too easily. Food I thought was a little bit on the steep side and it was a little bit draughty but you soon get an alcohol blanket after a few top ups. Was a really fun afternoon! Would go back! I visited Coin Laundry for bottomless brunch. Whilst my friends and I had a lovely time, I think it is overpriced for what it is. The food was tasty but small and to pay £10 for avacado on toast seems abit excessive. Furthermore, coffees are about £4 and although the bottomless drinks were great, there was nowhere near enough staff to serve them/take orders which meant everytime we wanted a refill, we felt like we were pestering the waiter. I appreciate this was not the waiters fault. However, if Coin Laundry are going to offer this package then they need more staff! It was a fun brunch and a cool location/interior but I'd go elsewhere next time. Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-03-05

Certainly, not a bad experience overall. Lovely food, good service on the prosecco. Interesting place! It is ultimately too pricey though (compared to similar spots, offering similar bottomless') All menu items are £10 and some of them just don't deserve to be 10 pounds (Avacado on toast, a full english etc) £15 for any two dishes + £15 for bottomless would be a much more attractive setup for this place Visited Coin Laundry on 2017-02-25

The food was pretty good (reasonably sized portions) and it's a good price for a bottomless brunch, but the service was very slow (you had to basically chase down a member of staff for a top up). It's a shame it wasn't that busy when we visited on Wednesday. There's a small wine list but we found a lovely NZ Sauvignon Blanc. The bar snacks were a little eclectic, some nuts and olives would be a great addition and still be in 70s feel. Our waiter was great and attentive, waitress less so. There was a classic moment when she brought our wine unopened and stuck it in the wine bucket without serving it. I enquired (slightly sarcastically) if we should serve ourselves, she said "oh yes, I always pour the wrong amount in the glass". Brilliant. You had one job.... Visited Coin Laundry on 2016-11-16

My friend and I had scoured London for a venue to host our joint party. It was a big one and we had people coming from all over the UK. It needed to be special. Coin Laundry delivered on every level. Firstly, it's just a cool looking venue with an awesome fun vibe and quirky touches that make it stand out from the average bar. From the start of the process the management made us feel completely at ease. There was no attempt to push us into anything we didn't want - just a desire to make sure we had the best time possible. They were always available to answer questions and advise in the run-up to the party and we always felt we were in safe hands. On the night itself we'd hired the big downstairs room. Everything we'd asked for was organised to perfection. The staff were sensational from start to finish and looked like they were glad to be there. The food - which for us was an after-thought - was amazing and our guests made a point of commenting on it. We had our own playlist but CL had phenomenal options if we'd wanted to go a different way. It truly was one of the best nights we've ever had and the support we had from the bar was hugely significant. Desperate to go back. May have to call designmynight and tell them to get more stars as five isn't enough!

I don't normally write reviews and things but felt compelled after the night my fiance and I had for our engagement celebrations with our friends. The guys at Coin Laundry were exceptionally attentive, from booking an area to when we got there, helping us serve out Prosecco to our guests as they arrived and making everyone feel welcome. Almost all of our friends commented on how awesome the space was downstairs - clean, unpretentious, wickedly retro and reasonably priced drinks and food. Very well picked beer selection and good cocktails. Also, someone chose the spag bol croquettes as they wanted a quick snack and we ended up ordering another 4 portions at least if I'm not mistaken because they were so good! Highly recommend this place Visited Coin Laundry on 2016-02-06

Loved it, smart, sharp and unpretentious service, great selection of beers, food was great for a quick bite. The epitome of an appalling restaurant. £9 for a chopped salad just about a side. Out of burgers on a Saturday night? Interior at odds with 'retro' theme. Curry sauce tasty, chips the cheapest frozen variety, tomato soup-out of a tin. 1 stick of branded gum for a table of 5 on the bill!

We came in for Christmas dinner in a group of 15. The most disappointing thing was that all of the draught lager was down, only small cans available. And service was slightly slow and muddled. The food was a bit hit and miss, starters not great but the mains were lovely (I had the beer can chicken), then the dessert, most of us had profiteroles and the pastry was burnt and shouldn't have been served. There was a slight lack of atmosphere in the place but I put that down to it being new and on a Sunday. The concept is great and it definitely has potential, will hopefully improve over time. The best thing were the staff who were friendly and professional. The cocktails were great and wine choice very good. Cockle popcorn was a triumph. Coin Laundry prides itself on its chicken Kievs ...sadly in my party these all were quite dry. I love chicken Kievs...love them...and was sadly disappointed. The cheesy veg was also quite hard and could have done with a blanching prior cooking. I would try again and hope it improves...great concept. Visited Coin Laundry on 2015-12-12

We were a party of 24 and they confirmed that they had space for us, unfortunately when we arrived we only had a space for 8 people. This reflected poorly on me as I was organising the event. The food was disgusting, the egg and waffle bap was dry and appeared to have been reheated. We spent over a grand on the bar despite the staff being very slow. This is a shame as we are a big business located around the corner. To add to the night you can smell sewage downstairs. great selection of drinks however.
