Lodged snugly in the arches underneath Charing Cross Station, Champagne Charlie's is the perfect spot for an intimate drink and bite to eat. One of Davy's traditional Ale and Port Houses, you can rest assured that the drink selection will be flawlessly curated and of the highest quality.
Go inside and be greeted by an atmosphere so charmingly comfortable that you'll feel immediately warmed even before the alcohol. Rather like an old fashioned pub meets very spruced up Hobbit's hole, there are exposed stone walls, nooks and antiquated nick-nacks aplenty. However, the effect is far from fusty. Uncluttered, artfully illuminated and with some distinctly contemporary touches, the space manages to be both cosy and airy. Start your night in the comfy bar area before moving onto the slightly more formal dining room for a relaxed and well paced evening. Champagne Charlie's also has a Private Function room, which can be booked for parties of up to 45; a superb venue for a party, whatever the occasion.
All cuisine is prepared using fresh and seasonal produce, and is traditionally British with a contemporary twist. For theatre fans whizzing off to a show, there is a well priced two course menu served from 5pm-7pm. From the a la carte menu, perhaps try Cornish crab salad (10.50), then roast shoulder of lamb (16.25) with the chocolate fudge cake (£5.50) for pud. There is also an array of wines and ports to choose from to match with your meal.
