From the founders of one of the world's most notorious and legendary bars, Nightjar, comes Oriole, a speakeasy inspired affair in the heart of the city.
In November 2015, Nightjar parents Edmund Weil and Rosie Stimpson have took over the former Cock Tavern site in London's Smithfields Market to create a bespoke bar of global influence and unique design. Oriole is so named after the exotic bird species native across Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia with the cocktail menu reflecting this by interpreting the flavours and tastes of these parts of the world. Laced in gold flecks and art deco inspiration, Oriole lives in the glamour of the past with cocktails of the future.
With 120 covers over tables and banquettes, Oriole is bigger than its relative Nightjar, but still maintains all of the same values where custom drinks and live entertainment are the central focus. The bar features a central stage, host many a top notch night of live music and bands where jazz and swing folds into the entire aesthetic and feel of the bar, one that harks back to the romance and mystique of the 20s, 30s and 40s.
There's an evening menu of small Nikkei inspired sharing plates to enjoy whilst you sup on the delicious cocktails.
