I visit ping pong a lot and normally always love it. This was the first time to the Covent Garden branch and I wasn’t impressed. They’ve changed the prawn crackers to standard take away prawn crackers and pretty much every dish that came out was either cold or Luke warm. They did give us slight discount off of our food but wasn’t really the biggest gesture. After we had told them the food was cold the waitress still asked us if we wanted to take any Home with us! visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 10 Oct 2017

The place was so noisy and far to many tables squashed into the space . Every time a staff même et needed tongetvthebdeinks from the Bar they had to squeeze past me and bump my chair . We asked for just some of our order to be out on the table as it was so small but we were told it wasn’t paisible so we had to eat around piles of plates and baskets . The worst experience in pinppng and will never go back . Suachba change from when it first open we were one of the first customers to go on opening day . visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 07 Oct 2017

Tables were absolutely ram packed together I felt like I was dining with complete strangers either side of us. Dessert was forgotten about and not delivered to the table until it had been requested 3 times. They didn't charge for it so that made some amends, but overall was very disappointed with the whole experience. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 23 Sep 2017

I had a good event overall however there were a few things that were far from perfect which was a little disappointing. The tables weren't in the right places upon arrival and needed a lot of adjusting by my team to get them to how they should have been which meant I wasn't totally ready when my guests were due to arrive etc. The worst part though was the fact that I specifically in advance had informed several times about my dietaries and this was noted down and i still got brought a king prawn and god knows what else I was brought as I was given it separately and was told this was my specified meal and then it was only when I looked at the item I thought it looked odd and questioned it and the waiter went red and realised I was given this accidentally. I didn't question anything else but I didn't eat any of my other pieces after this as, as you can imagine this put me off. I have to say that even despite given these instructions other than a quick apology and an offer of another one which by this point would have taken too long and made me eat by myself so I refused it, I was quite upset this had happened. The waiters were good and the only complaint was I said several times to the girl please keep the drinks topped up as many of my guests kept saying 'theres no beer' or 'you have to have this one' and I didnt want this to be the case if it was topped up every time it went low. I did have an enjoyable night and got good feedback re food etc from my clients so think thank you for your help. Just wanted to share my slight disappointment which I am sure you will appreciate. It was the first time for me in this specific branch, I've been to Westfield and Soho before and I have to say that the Covent Garden branch doesn't hold the same standards in terms of quality of the food and service. It wasn't a bad experience, let's be clear about that, still worth it, but the other two branches I know are far better in my opinion. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 17 Sep 2017

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I had left a note when booking that is was a family members 70th birthday and that I might order a cake to put a candle in. We were all too stuffed so I didn't order anything but they came out with a free desert with a lit candle in it without even asking. The birthday girl was chuffed! Would go again. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 16 Sep 2017

A good venue for my husband's birthday dim sum lunch. 22 people fitted fine in the private upstairs room. We chose the red set menu at £25/head. Enormous quantities of enjoyable food, which just kept coming! The staff looked after us well on the day, with great care paid to allergies and dietary requirements, though setting the whole event up wasn't entirely straightforward, and communication in advance was a little haphazard. I would recommend it for such an event. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 09 Sep 2017

Great late lunch at Ping Pong Covent Garden - one of the waitresses was really helpful, food delicious as always, and they made a special effort to help me celebrate my birthday - thank you! Minor issue is that we asked for tap water twice and didn't get any during the meal, and that our dimsum baskets were served scattered around the table so didn't stay warm...but the char sui buns and vegetable buns were delicious! Really recommend Ping Pong. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 26 Aug 2017

We were a large group of 14 but they struggled to cope. Waited ages to order drinks which took a while to come. One half of the table didn't get their food until the others had finished because the kitchen lost their order. We helped ourselves to condiments rather than wait for service. Service at first wasn't great but once someone finally came to take us through the menu and take drinks orders the service was good. Food was amazing and my request for a birthday treat for my girlfriend was granted with a free dessert. Overall would recommend Ping Pong. Robert visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 12 Jul 2017

Loved the food. Fresh and beautiful flavours. The only down side was the seating. Both lower levels seemed spaced out but we were upstairs packed together and couldn't get in or out of our chairs without moving the tables as the people behind were so close visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 15 Jul 2017

The food was lovely but the service and setting let it down. Three times food/drinks meant for other tables was brought to us. The table layout means you are closer to neighbours than the person you are dining with. Our complimentary drink was charged on our bill, and our waitress was surly throughout. Not impressed! visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 14 Jul 2017

Pretty poor. Weird service, and on the Love Theatre deal had ridicules small amounts of food! Food quite nice overall, but very obviously cheaping out, for example the two fried items were a vegetable spring roll, and some mashed potato & peas in breadcrumbs. Frankly a bit Captain Birdseye! visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 13 Jul 2017

It was very nice staff was lovely and accommodating. We didn't get complementary drinks though and had two leave after two hours as it is not possible to book for more than 2 hours. Over all very nice though the cocktails are super yummy. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 12 Jul 2017

Food was excellent as per usual however service was very much below par - had to ask on numerous occasions for water, cutlery and the bills, seemed like there was too little staff on to cope with service volumes or that they simply didn't care. Disappointing as always enjoy going here normally. Carly visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 12 Jul 2017

The food was great (especially the spare ribs!) but the service was very slow. We didn't get seated for about 10 mins despite booking a table then it took a while for our order to be taken - and when it was one of the set menus was missed off, which was more than half of the order! We were in a rush to go to the theatre so didn't get to enjoy the experience as much as we could have. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 10 Jul 2017

Food was good, service was slow and they didn't know they had ran out of something which was very disappointing. We also didn't feel that great after eating here, which could be a coincidence. I have eaten with ping pong before and it has been great. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 06 Jul 2017

Hi Loved the place/staff. We had a meal deal but portions small. My wifes birthday and I asked for candle to be put in our dessert. They gave us another desert with candle and sang happy birthday. They did not charge us for dessert. Lovely gesture. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 29 Jun 2017

It was OK. Families were mixed with the hen parties which seemed odd. The waiting staff were OK bit not particularly warm. One spilled my drink and didn't replace it or really even acknowledge. Service was fairly speedy and the food OK to good. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 17 Jun 2017

We enjoyed our meal very much especially the dim sum which was delicious. The waiters were very efficient and helpful with the menu however the manager never carried out what he said he would do i.e i'll get you a,pencil to complete the menu choice and twice he took an order for drinks and they waited on the bar (we could see them) for what seemed a long time and said the delay was because the barman was overwhelmed!! The barman got them up on the bar really quickly. We had finished our meal before the last round appeared. He lacked concentration as far as we could see. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 07 Jun 2017

Usually great but new waitress meant that even after having a long chat when we ordered (as she had many questions) we waited for 30 mins after prawn crackers for our food to arrive and were then asked if we wanted the bill! We explained we hadn't had any food yet and she realised she hadn't put the order in. It then took ages for food to arrive and the rice came first followed by dim sum around 20 mins later by which time we weren't even hungry anymore as had gone past it. Shouldn't be hard when just ordering 2 ping pong set menus. A shame as usually very good. No apology really offered and ruined a good meal. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 06 Jun 2017

Food and drink was ok but the service was not good. It took a long time for someone to come up and ask for order. The staff was totally confused and brought someone else's order to our twice. Then when I asked for bill, they took it to the wrong table. Also, food on our set menu arrived haphazardly. Not impressed with service at all. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 03 Jun 2017

Service was hit and miss. The lady that showed us to our table brought us to the worst table in the restaurant (prob cos we were using love theatre vouchers) -far in the basement next to the toilets when there were loads of other free tables. We were served by about 5 different waitresses during our visit and it was all a bit confusing. Food was lovely though visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 27 May 2017

surprisingly empty for the time of day (was there 12-2pm) but the service was good, the food was good and both I and my guest enjoyed it. Marked down slightly because the atmosphere was not great in a quiet restaurant for me and the staff had it easy because there were so few people there (a little harsh from me I guess!). I will definitely return. visited Ping Pong Covent Garden on 16 May 2017
