Description

Foundation Bar in Covent Garden is one of the most charismatic clubs in London with a cutting edge décor, drinks menu and music. You can go for dinner, drinks or a late night of dancing to seriously fresh beats of House music and Club Classics at this central London club. Its expressive nature attracts a hip crowd who let their hair down but also a more relaxed after work crowd. They don’t appreciate sportswear or any silly stag/hen due costumes.

The interior design is beyond original and you’re treated to the latest remixes of eclectic music at Foundation bar. Their wide variety of cocktails are designed and crafted in house, there will be one that will mirror you, we guarantee it!! We’re talking vintage storage jars, coloured tins, milk bottles, teapots, selfies, Starxxxks!, and Cider House Rules… just a few of the new to choose from! Foundation cocktails aren’t just drinks, but a total experience.

Foundation puts the fun in food, leaving the pretense of fine dining behind for a more social eating experience. If it’s casual dining your after with no fuss, a selection of ‘Boxed Up Burgers’ ready to order, delivered to you all wrapped up and popped in a box – say goodbye to knives and forks! Alternatively, book a Lego table in the diner and try a new range of tasty burgers and hand rolled pizzas, freshly made by the cheeky chef-masters behind the scenes!

Foundation bar is free entry Tuesday-Friday but a small door charge applies on Saturdays

My girlfriend booked a table here for her birthday drinks and put down a deposit to secure the table and when we arrived we were told that it was half price drinks and that the deposit would go towards the tab, so we ordered a few bottles of prosecco. I loathe to give bad reviews but Foundation Bar is where customer services goes to die - the service here was terrible. The glasses were dirty and the staff were dismissive and distracted, often chatting away with one another. When I asked about food earlier in the night they said that the food is to be ordered at the bar, which was fine so when my other companions arrived they went to the bar to order some food; but was then curiously told that the kitchen was not open tonight because they were “too busy”. Things just got worse when we went to pay the bill. It seemed a little expensive so we asked them to make sure that the deposit had been applied to the bill and the half price discount on drinks as they had told us it would be. I can understand that if it is half price during a specific time period and is counted on when the item was paid as opposed to when the item was put through the till that is fine, but this wasn’t communicated to us before hand. The staff also became very agitated and a little intimidating to be honest when we questioned the bill and asked for an itemised receipt and refused to discuss it in a professional manner or explain to us what had happened. To prevent the situation from escalating as it was upsetting my girlfriend, I just paid the bill. Frankly, I’m appalled by the service and the attitude of the staff here and would avoid this place. Intimidating behaviour is not okay in any context and it’s a shame that it had to tarnish a birthday celebration.

I went to this bar for my birthday. From the offset my friends were saying how rude the bar staff were. When it came to paying our bill they refused to acknowledge the drinks we had bought during happy hour, as we had a tab going. We ended up paying full price with a promise we would never return. Awful staff.

Absolutely LOVE this place! It's an awesome night out and a fab bar with wicked music. I prefer Friday nights to Saturdays and most of the time if you just google Foundation Bar, you'll find 50% off vouchers etc. 100% recommend for a night out!

Whatever you do don't book a table here. You'll never see your "deposit" again, despite our table spending four times the deposit amount. I tried to phone the next day and was promised a manager would call me back, which he obviously never did. They'll promise you drinks on arrival that you'll have to chase up yourself and when we arrived someone was sat at our reserved table but staff made no effort to ask them to move.

This place is always packed being so central but we enjoyed our night here. Standard London prices in a touristy area. Doormen were friendly and the DJ was great. A fun spot to end up.

Had such a lovely time at this venue which I booked for around 20-25 people for a birthday and can't fault the service received from the staff and DMN. The music was a mix of R&B and chart music, and the overall atmosphere is just as described above with none of the drama of most London clubs! Thanks for making this an amazing night. Booked via 'design my night' which "should" gain us free entry before 11pm. However, we were charged even though the bouncer agreed that we were on the guest-list. We then requested a receipt. This was denied also. I have contact the bar stating that this is false advertisement, an impingement of consumer rights and wish for that money to be refunded. However, I am still awaiting any communication with them! Besides having unethical practice I would say it is an average bar, good mix of age range, no teenagers, pleasant vibe. Although there was an awful smell, rather A) someone had toilet issues or B) drains need sorting. Not sure which. I would state this is a venue more for the start off the night to meet up and have drinks. Visited Foundation on 2016-02-06

Perfect place for dance, drink and some snacking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you get there before 7 you will get a promotion for drinks. Thank you all for making our night special.

Group of 3 friends on London Trip Saturday night my over 40 friend wasn't keen on staying as felt too old, it was for attended my mainly under 25's. As for the venue, good table set up with defined areas, not much space to dance but not too impossible for those who like to 'bust a few moves', friendly staff too . When we left and explained to the doorman we felt too old he advised Sway, with our hand stamped so we were able to gain VIP entrance. So overall at great varied night from both clubs and Design My Night. Would recommend Foundation if 25 and under and Sway for overs

Had great night in Foundation, celebrating my 30th with a group of about 20 friends. Shots and cupcakes went down very well. I had booked the 'Foundation package', though i wouldn't say the table was in any way decorated, it didn't matter as I had bought balloons. The service was really friendly - all in all I would recommend.

Celebrated a lot of nights here. The door men can he annoying, asking everyone to be in a mixed group even if you're joining a large party inside. But the music and drinks make up for them. Pretty casual, somewhere to drink and dance the night away.

Myself and 7 others came here for my birthday on Sat, having booked a table with the mad hatter birthday package. I was so impressed with this place, I honestly wish we'd stayed the entire night! It was big, different rooms and hideaway spots peppering the venue, with unique decor. We loved the lego table! The vibe was great, and there was a good amount of people in there at 7.30. Music choice was excellent. It was the food and drinks that really won the night. We ordered a few bits, including the lamb, and it was succulent with some of the best mash I've tasted. The cocktails ranged from classics to exciting new concoctions that delighted us all. It was a busy night but the wait for the waitress wasn't actually very long, and I was very happy with the birthday package. Good value for money! All in all, I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. We'll definitely be back again!

I went to Foundation last weekend for my birthday. I booked a table which came with an inclusive cocktail, shots, platter of food, and cupcakes. The staff were friendly and the bar had a relaxed friendly vibe. The music was good though we stayed in the bar room so am not sure whether it is different in the main room. It wasn't overly busy so we weren't squashed in and got served quickly at the bar.

It's awful, just awful. Was overcharged at the bar and got the stink-eye from the barmaid for asking for a legitimate refund. Had a very expensive item of clothing go 'missing' from their cloakroom (which is £2 PER ITEM) and then not even offered an apology. The music is school disco-esque. It smells rank down there. Oh, and some of the chairs are broken. Don't go, just don't.

We had a friends birthday here and I feel compelled to leave a reaview as i think this place is a great find in Covent garden, its good a really good quirky feel to it, more of the kind you would find in shoreditch and its great for drinks, food and then moving onto the club room for dancing. Happy hour fantastic too, didnt have any issues that ISB mentions below.

Booked a table down here for a friday night for me and 5 friends and we have a really fun night. The cocktails are good, not great but liked the quirky decor and a really buzzy vibe. The club was good for a good old dance to commercial house music and if it stayed open later we would have happily danced for longer. Reccomended. Especially as most of the bars in the area are average at best

Take advantage of Foundation's happy hours and deals (they always have loads on) to really enjoy a night out here. Some nights it can be a bit too busy but as long as you reserve an area you'll be fine. Foundation is perfect for a night out with friends but definitely not somewhere to take a date!

Visited Foundation tonight and initially appreciated the moody atmosphere and eclectic furniture. However, we were soon to be disappointed by the ridiculously small portion of sharing platters, the I'll equipped bar and mediocre cocktails. Only the 50% voucher prevented the night from being a complete disaster.

I like Foundation, its got a lively atmosphere, young people, nice looking girls actually, but also a great place for groups and funky music playing, the happy hour is awesome with 50% off, and then if you want a dance you can walk through to the seperate club which is small and intimate so not like a big cheesy west end place. Niceeeee!

Went here on a saturday night...great find! the review on the blog was spot on..really cool quirky bar for the west end. club music was a bit standard funky housey for me but we had booked a section in the lounge area and had a great night. If only it was open past 1am!

Had ipad mini stolen from a bag in the cloakroom which you pay £2 for, when questioned the cloakroom staff he just shrugged & pointed at the disclaimer sign, manager & bouncers were very unhelpful denied everything on the night & then told me to call back, so they could check CCTV, after hours of trying to get through & no one answering & staff fobbing me off saying 'he is in meetings' ...finally spoke to him & he was really unhelpful & rude-& he knew the whole police procedure like the back of his hand, so obviously not new to the situation he was dealing with?! Do not go, & if you really have to, keep your stuff on you & DO NOT use the cloakroom!! :( unfortunately due to the fact that I didn't take my ipad out in full view of the CCTV cameras police couldn't do anything, dread to think just how much the cloakroom staff get away with!
