Augustus Harris

Description

Augustus Harris, a cosy bàcaro (a typical Venetian hostaria or tavern) is a new addition to the fabulous collection of bars and restaurants in Covent Garden. Named after the 19th Century manager of the Drury Lane Theatre, who is said to be the father of modern Pantomime. Here you'll have a range of Italian wine and produce to buy during the day, and in the evening you can settle down for some cichetti (small snacks and side dishes) served with Italian wines and classic cocktails.

This stunning bàcaro is set over 2 floors. Upstairs you will find a bronze bar displaying all the cichetti of the day; along with wooden shelves covered in the best of Italian produce, containing everything from pasta to wines and fine olive oil. Choose to sit by the bar or by the windows, perfect for looking out at the street and doing some much needed people-watching. Alternatively you can head to the welcoming downstairs area, with walnut clad walls and large bronze mirrors, to sit in the candlelight. Augustus Harris is a smart yet homely venue, ideal for anyone looking for some comforts away from the bustle of Covent Garden.
