Description

The King of Ladies is the sister venue to The Breakfast Club's Clapham site, situated on Battersea Rise in South London.

The cocktail bar and lounge pad pays tribute to a 1970's bachelor pad and draws owes its name to a famous line in the iconic US sitcom 'Cheers'. The bar serves premium beer and craft beer as well as 70's themed cocktails.

Expect to see Pina Coladas, Tequilla Sunrises and an Old Fashioned with a modern twist. It would not be a true 1970's bachelor pad without retro bar snacks, and The King of Ladies Man serve an amazing roster of American styled grilled cheese.

A word from the chef:
Cheese is the name of the game at The King of Ladies Man; expect Mac n' Cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches and cheesy Tapas dishes. They also do some other less cheesy options with smoked haddock Fritters, grilled corn on the cob and watermelon salad on offer. Not your average bar snacks.

Good cocktail bar with very nice staff but I was disappointed I was not taken through the secret sliding door from the breakfast club to the cocktail bar as it was a surprise for my other half on valentines visited The King of Ladies Man on 14 Feb 2017

Thank you Mr The King. I can't remember too much after your Old Fashions melted my brain but we all had lots of fun. Thanks for reserving us an area your staff were really friendly:)) Ben visited The King of Ladies Man on 21 Jan 2017

I had a fantastic time. The team gave me the launderette in which to host my 40th birthday gathering, and it didn't disappoint. The attention to detail, the ludicrously named drinks (featuring a dedicated and intentive Colada menu), and accommodating service meant that me and my guests had a fantastic time and the venue gained itself around 30 new devotees. When a tastefully erotic cocktail menu makes space for Tom Selleck (circa Magnum PI), you know you've struck gold lamé. visited The King of Ladies Man on 14 Jan 2017

Excellently designed bar with friendly (but also unorganised) staff with great food. It would be 4 out of 5 despite the lack of organisation because the friendliness makes up for this but I booked an area for 22 and was restricted to an area more suitable for 12 as there was another larger booking. We couldn't fit in the area allocated so had to spill out slightly and had to use the bar which was located in the area of the larger party. This lead to the other party arguing with us to get out of their area even though we had no other option. The other party had a lot more space per person ratio but they were told that they had this area to themselves so they insisted on it and were extremely rude about it - not the staffs' problem but extremely badly managed by them. There were several other better options for designating the areas that would give all parties direct access to the bar and toilets without having to walk through each other's areas and being abused. visited The King of Ladies Man on 07 Jan 2017

Very nice atmosphere and amazing food as always. Staff is a bit disorganised as we were the only guests at the time and had to wait for order and drink a long time. visited The King of Ladies Man on 11 Dec 2016

Great venue but the service wasn't as great. There was a group that was at the bar and obviously known to the bar staff so were served before anyone else waiting. Very annoying! visited The King of Ladies Man on 29 Oct 2016

Not so good night I'm afraid! We booked a table which was saved for us no problem. When we went to the bar we had to wait for around 30 mins before being served. The bar isn't big and was not at all busy, it seemed like we were being ignored. There were some people who were friends of the bar staff (or maybe other staff) who were being served as and when they wanted so we had to wait. Eventually we managed to order drinks, then some of the cocktail ingredients ran out (it was only around 9.30pm). The person who served us stopped midway through making our drinks to have shots with her friends which was a little frustrating as we had already been waiting so long. Another staff member finished our order for us and kindly gave us the drinks on the house, which we really appreciated considering it had been about a 40 minute wait by then. We left after that. Could've just been one-off but won't be returning. visited The King of Ladies Man on 29 Oct 2016

Services was friendly but a bit slow with the coffees. If you buy juice, smoothies or anything cold ask for without ice. No one realises we don't live in the tropics and don't need to be cooled down. Food was really good but veggie burrito was disappointing. Overall very good! visited The King of Ladies Man on 09 Oct 2016

Hot date with the King last night and what a date it was. Although the secret entrance is not so secret (would be better if the inner door was closed so the place is a real surprise), when the curtains are closed & the Breakfast Club has shut up shop you.feel pretty lucky to be inside. Awesome music for this child of the 80's.
