Description

With a range of 30 wines by the glass, 400+ bottles to drink in or take away, and an incredible menu of seasonal British food designed by Executive Head Chef Kishen Raheja, Humble Grape brings the love of wine to the heart of London.

Larger than the Battersea, Islington and Liverpool Street bars, Humble Grape Fleet Street is hidden in the original double-vaulted crypts – designed by the legendary Sir Christopher Wren – below St. Bride's Church. With recycled cork walls, reclaimed wood furniture and a bar made from old Champagne riddling racks, it's a distinctive and quirky place to drink, dine or host a private event.

Humble Grape believe wine is for sharing. They seek out hand-crafted wines made by people they love, then import them directly. So small, family run winemakers get the representation they deserve, and customers only pay for the wine they’re drinking, with no mark-up for agents, importers or distributors. And because they’re made with loving care, most of the wines are biodynamic, organic or from sustainable vineyards.

Tucked away down a hidden cobbled walkway off St Bride's Passage, nestled between the high walls of St Bride's churchyard and beneath the church itself, is the entrance to Humble Grape. On a warm August evening we arrived to sample this new venue...

We went for a team Christmas lunch. On the whole, we had a great experience with good food and good service. Not wishing to detract from what was otherwise a very enjoyable evening, we were disappointed given the price paid to have the smoked salmon starters served with a Carrs cracker and then to be served with Carrs crackers later in the evneing with our cheese board. Excellent venue and space provided for our private dining experience for 30 guests. We had a wine tasting meal which was delivered expertly and with passion. The wines were superb and staff very helpful. The food was good but the service could have been quicker. Visited Humble Grape Fleet Street on 2017-12-05

I had a great 70th birthday party - in the organisation stage the staff were patient, helpful, knowledgable and flexible. On the night staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food and the drink were excellent and the venue layout works very well enabling the band to play at one end and yet people can hear themselves talk at the other Visited Humble Grape Fleet Street on 2017-11-04

I recommend the baked Camembert! Wines are top quality and reasonably priced - a rare combination in this day and age. Service was friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be going back to try more of the wine list :)

We had a great day and would definitely use you guys for an event again in the near future. We'd look to have a party of at least 30 next time though so we can really fill out the room. Visited Humble Grape Fleet Street on 2017-10-04

We held a private dinner in the Penguin Room. Whilst the service and food were excellent, the vegetarian choices were limited and the room was quite noisy due to a birthday party in the room adjoining this. Visited Humble Grape Fleet Street on 2017-07-13

Great venue, lovely staff on hand and the food was exquisite. I would recommend it for anyone to use as a venue for a private function. I will certainly be back for dinner there one night. Visited Humble Grape Fleet Street on 2017-06-24
