Description

"Some people like this basement bar so much, they miraculously lose their mobile signal" joke Corney & Barrow, the guys in charge at this snug bolthole close to London Bridge.

Put your phone away and get comfortable, the intimate corners, vaulted brick ceilings and casual feel to C&B makes it perfect for letting the stresses of the day melt away. The venue serves bacon butties at breakfast as well as home cooked lunches, and it’s a popular stop off for the after work crowd, who drop in before catching a train from London Bridge.

C&B is available for exclusive private hire throughout the week, and offers an entertainment schedule featuring wine tastings and jazz nights.

lovely food and excellent service visited C&B Monument on 03 Jan 2017

We had requested a table in a booth but it had been laid up in the restaurant area so we had to wait whilst it was rearranged. Thankfully it was. Unfortunately our main course was cold and was sent back - we were compensated by a bottle of wine on the house. One of our party cancelled and for some reason they wanted to still serve up this persons food which was a tad strange. A slightly bizarre experience, not a reflection of the smooth service normally given. visited C&B Monument on 08 Dec 2016

Great location and service. Food platters seemed less impressive compared to the ones we had last time. visited C&B Monument on 23 Dec 2016

Ordered the fish cake and it came out cold. It was reheated and tasted good in the end but would've been nice if it was right first time. visited C&B Monument on 20 Dec 2016

We had a pleasant lunch although were a little disappointed that no Christmas Menu was on offer. The menu was fairly limited but the food hot, which is always good. Unfortunately the desserts we had (both Eton Mess) were nearly all cream and very little meringue However, the waiter did bring more meringue and then waived the charge, which we were satisfied with. visited C&B Monument on 07 Dec 2016

Felt rather pressured to order when we were obviously still awaiting for the third person, and got a tuna salad served with an overcooked tuna steak. Tuna steak should never be served anywhere near more than medium rare, anyone having eaten / cooked a tuna steak knows that.. visited C&B Monument on 07 Dec 2016

I came here for lunch with my friend as it was my birthday. We had a bottle of house champagne to celebrate and spent a very pleasant three hours (I only booked two and a half, but the staff very kindly let us stay). We enjoyed our food and the service was good. I'd be happy to go back. Alison visited C&B Monument on 17 May 2016

We had a terrible Lunch. Service was slow ( 45 minutes wait ) and surly. Our food was poor, the chicken sald we sent back. My recommendation is to avoid at all costs. I only give it a star because it won't let me leave a review without a rating. True value ZERO stars robert55 visited C&B Monument on 18 Mar 2016

Cool little basement bar! Bit different from other c&b's and a bit hidden away from the huge after work crowd!

I had a really awesome steak here yesterday and the service was truly 'top notch' ! Definitely a great one for city dwellers needing a little haven away from the madness of the 'suits on the streets' !
