Stax Diner

Description

Bea, the wonderful, wonderful lady behind Bea’s of Bloomsbury and Maltby Street Diner, turbo charges your Americana munch experience for Stax of fun and Stax of mmmmmmmm.

Stax’s red frontage beckons from  the 1st floor of Kingsly Court, its neon sign twinkling invitingly. Modelled after the American South roadside diners of Bea’s childhood, the interior is sparse; but mind your head on the random objects hanging from the ceilings. Hungry feasters cram in elbow to elbow on the long centre table, whilst more delicate diners perch on stools at the window. It’s a love of ballsy comfort food that brings you together…so don’t shy away from the five other people masticating in your personal space.

What’s that celestial sound? It’s the rattle of fried Cajun onion blossoms dancing in their twee red cage as a waitress weaves her way towards you. Bea says you MUST HAVE IT! And for £6.50, you won't complain. Have the brunch of kings with fried chicken and waffles for £12.50 and a mimosa for £5, or treat yourself with an evening Stax Po' Boy and whisky lemonade at £10.25 and £7.50 respectively. For the love of all that is holy you MUST try a Duffin Sundae. It's a Sundae....with a doughnut in it...enough said.
