This is an event yo do not want to miss!

You’re not sitting at a plastic table in a community centre. You’re stepping aboard a hand‑built 17th‑century pirate ship in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia. Candles flicker. Skull glassware gleams. Over 400 rum expressions line the barrel walls. And tonight, the tavern is alive with something darker… and far more fun.

This is live D&D, elevated to theatre.
Our Games Master doesn’t just run a session – he commands the story. Dressed in period pirate garb, he leads you through an original one‑shot adventure: Pirates of the Inferno. You and your party (up to 6 players) will navigate cursed waters, strike uneasy bargains with undead quartermasters, and face a fiery finale that reacts to your every choice.

But the real magic is the world around you.
Every member of our tavern staff is in character. The barmaid who brings your stein? She’s a spy for the Kraken’s Gate thieves’ guild. The gruff bartender? A retired privateer with a hook for a hand and a secret map. And yes – we have a live bard strolling between tables, strumming shanties, spinning insults (Vicious Mockery, anyone?), and weaving your party’s deeds into improvised verses.

Production value that breaks the mould

  • Custom-built game board – a massive, weather‑beaten ship’s deck with modular terrain, LED “inferno” effects, and hidden compartments for loot.

  • Immersive lighting & sound – thunderclaps during naval battles, howling winds, and a crackling fire finale.

  • Costumed cast – the Games Master, two tavern NPCs, and a bard, all in period attire, fully voiced and reactive.

  • Prop interaction – physically hand over a “gold doubloon” token, pull a lever to raise the anchor, or slide a riddle scroll across the bar.

What’s included with your ticket
All tickets include your seat at the table, character sheet (pre‑made or bring your own), dice, and one welcome grog (rum cocktail or soft drink).

Choose your tier:

  • Entry (£25) – game + participation + welcome grog

Venue

Rhum Tavern

Just off Oxford Street lies one of London's most characterful drinking dens. Rhum Tavern is where serious rum expertise meets cinematic storytelling - a hidden cocktail bar styled as the hull of a 1650s pirate ship called The Inferno. Step through the doors and you're stepping into another world entirely…

The masterclass itself was excellent. The guys from London Terrariums were helpful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They guided us along and were there to help the whole way through. The results of the class speak for themselves. The Rhum Tavern was also such a great venue for the event. Had just the right vibes. The only thing I would say is that the drink service was a bit chaotic. It was very noisy in there and you get so focussed on making your terrarium, people either don’t hear their drinks being called out or took other people’s drinks. This got staff frustrated and some people were complaining about waiting a long time. The boxes we had for our bottles were also too small but we managed to get them home safely. It was a fun night, just some tweaks with the service would have made it even more amazing.
