Head to The Courtesan to delight in the fineries of Imperial China.

The venue is a Dim Sum restaurant and cocktail bar hidden among the crux of Brixton's bustling scene, located within a few minutes walk of the underground station and over-flowing with charisma. Pop inside to encounter an intimate venue characterised by a dark, vintage decor reminiscent of a Chinese opium den.

The Courtesan pride themselves on their exquisite Dim Sum, speciality teas and unique house cocktails. Each dish is lovingly prepared, and the venue's child friendly nature makes it ideal for a family trip out. The venue also features a private room with bar downstairs that is more than a match for a party, dinner, or important business meeting of any nature.

A welcoming South London haunt that exudes a real neighbourhood feel, The Courtesan is a verstatile venue offering high quality across the board.

This venue serves Asian/Oriental food.

A word from the chef:
A delicious, traditional style of Chinese cuisine; Dim Sum is served in steamer baskets or small plates, perfect for a tapas style feast or a few dishes to accompany their sublime cocktails.

The Courtesan Brixton - Restaurant Bar Review

While its footfall may lack a little luster and the shutters outside don't necessarily exude tales of opium and the exquisite, The Courtesan is something of a shining light in Brixton dining, with dim sum that could be considered the most enviable...

Food was good but the service was bad!! The waiter failed to crack a smile. We had to ask for service a number of times, and when he did serve us he was rude! When we asked to take the service charge off it did not go down well. Lisbeth visited The Courtesan on 27 Oct 2016

Expensive for what it is, food is average, interior is cool but the restaurant was not busy so it lacked atmosphere, the staff were not attentive and were very cold. The cocktails only have one shot of alcohol in them and are £10! The whisky sour sour was so sour it was undrinkable. Will not be returning. There are much better places in Brixton than this, this is one of the worst restaurants i've been to in Brixton.

Absolutely amazing food and interiors, don't let the shabbyness of the outside fool you. The cocktails were affordable (about £8 roughly) and the dim sum has to be some of the best in London. Definitely recommend the Belly Laughs and Flying Cow dishes for newbies, you'll be blown away!

Looks crap from the outside but glad I went in. Super cool and a great way to escape the over flowing restaurants in the market down the road. As it is SO hidden can lack atmosphere sometimes as not always busy but great dim sum and really good drinks
