Description

Since its launch in November 2015, the team behind Brixton Rooftop have been offering trendsetters and urbanites a truly experiential style pop up, with the focus on providing a unique food and beverage consumer experience, that's not style over substance.

With passionate and creative food vendors, mixologist standard cocktails and a music policy that is only rivalled by the big name venues on the London clubbing circuit, the word unique was made to describe this venue.

Brixton Rooftop is situated in central Brixton, just a few minutes walk away from the tube station. The secluded doorway leads you to a set of steps up to the roof, a vast 2,000 sqm space with the capacity of up to 1,000. Nestled between two railway lines it makes for an ideal location for escapism, an instant transportation to an unexpected environment. In the summer this is offered in the form of an outdoors-themed beach, in the winter The South Pole Saloon, a covered and heated indoor venue.

We went to a few events at Brixton rooftop over the summer, staff were great, food traders were good-highly recommend booking a cabana if you are a large group as well, lost a star for the sound quality Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-09

Great venue & friendly staff. The sand on the beach is well maintained, I have been to two dnb gigs here and they have both been a really good time. They do all sorts of lovely events here and the food stalls they host are a treat!

Highly recommend this venue. I hired a beach hut and it was perfect for the large group we had. The staff were also lovely and management was very accommodating. Will definitely be back and hope to see it back next summer. Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-09-02

The staff were lovely! Drinks reasonably priced! Only downfall - it was advertised as 3 Dj's and we stayed 4-10:30pm and no other Dj's turned up, Nor did the club open! So myself and the group carried on the party elsewhere - as the music become repetitive from the one Dj! Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-08-26

Celebrated joint birthdays at the venue. The atmosphere was good and staff were very friendly and gave a great service. Tables were not what was expected for what was paid for and music was not to our liking however did change but right at the end instead of earlier like we were told. The food had on the table was quite bad not cooked very well however saw other people with different food they enjoyed more so was maybe the wrong selection of food we chose. The venue was nice and quite big itself. Overall we had a good night and everyone enjoyed themselves we just had different expectations. Would return in general for a nice day out. We overall liked it, thank you. We were a group of six and it was a team outing, I pre-paid for the food tokens and wanted to open a bar tab as I was in charge to pay for the group. I was told that a tab could only be opened at the table and the minimum spend is £250. We all work in a hotel and some of us had to work the night shift, thus could not drink (alcohol) and it was therefore not an option to go for the £250 min spend as we would not have hit it. I asked the manager on duty if we could open a bar tab but he said rules are rules and they cannot be bent for everyone. I understand that but it would have been nice to have know this in advance as running a bar tab is common, so I was anticipating this to be in issue (would have asked in advance otherwise). I also think the manager had a bit of an attitude and did not really care. the bar and waiting staff on the other hand was amazing and could not have been more friendly and cheerful. We are thinking of bringing the entire hotel team over in early September but the manager's attitude when speaking to me holds me back to pitch this idea to my director. Thank you for requesting feedback and reading it. Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-13

So I went for my birthday and booked a table for myself and a group of friends. The waitress explained the tab system to us on the day which didn't make much sense to us and, to be fair, was very expensive and inflexible. Part way through our evening we were approached by management and then told that we needed to settle our £200 tab now or pay for our drinks every time we purchased, so our tab could be reduced.. The issue I had with the first option was security and risk of fraud, whilst the second option appeared to suggest that management did not trust us to pay our bill at the end of the night. We were amongst other reserved tables on the day and I didn't see the waitresses approach those guests with the same options. Our waitress said she didn't agree with what management were doing and apologised profusely. Much later when I asked the waitress how much was left on our tab she said they were no longer operating a tab on my table because they couldn't keep account of what we had already ordered. . This was extremely infuriating to say the least!! Myself and my guests will not be recommending this makeshift establishment to anyone based on the experience we had with management. It was poor, lacked customer service and overall customer care especially considering the extortionate costs we incurred! Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-09

The venue is great - quite big, with street food trucks, dancefloor and quite a few tables to seat down. I would not recommend booking a table - you can't order what you want from the menu and can only have Sol beers, White/red/rose wines, sparkling wine or bottle of spirit. Asking people to spend £250 for a 8 people table and restricting what they can buy to such a short list is a bit ridiculous. Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-07

When booking we were told that the table spend applied to 'jugs of cocktails' then when we tried to order cocktails we were told we couldn't.... Also our deposit was take twice and it still hasn't been sorted out. Live music was also way too loud could hardly hear each other speak Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-07

Great place, the see through roof needs to be taken off for the summer as it was sweltering hot underneath it. We had a table booked so didnt want to leave our table to catch a breeze lol great day out just a little pricey on table drinks. Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-08

We asked to reserve at area and had been told we had a "booth". The website was very hard to navigate and we thought we had booked a beach hut. Turned out a booth was a table- which isn't a booth. We were also not told that the minimum spend could only be on certain drinks and the music stopped outside at 10 when we thought it was midnight. It was a bit disappointing as we had organised it for a hen. That said your staff and management should be applauded for the way they dealt with it- excellent customer service. Please make the website clearer as it really wasn't and it led to a lot of disappointment. Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-07-08

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Myriam was incredible in helping us from the very beginning when we were still choosing venues until the end of the event. I'm positive to say the party was a success, and everyone were impressed by the beach! I only have great things to say about the entire experience. Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-06-29

I thought the venue was really fun, however personally the service was good at the beginning but got slower as the night went on. We had always try and find the women who was assigned to our hut. It was also outrageous how much they were charging for the drinks!!! The vodka and rum bottles were £140 for only 70cl. That is a ridiculous and unfair mark up. You need to warn people in advance or even be less frugal!!! Visited Brixton Rooftop on 2017-06-30

Brilliant venue - we had a great night! However, we were there as a large group so I'd booked food vouchers ahead for people to use, and when we tried to, some stalls said we could only have certain options with the vouchers. The Rooftop staff said that wasn't the case, but some stalls insisted. So I'd recommend just paying in cash rather than faffing around with the vouchers and getting a worse deal! I'm sending you an email to follow-up with our experience on Saturday and to clarify the misunderstanding. Firstly, as you can see below, we have confirmation that we would have had a table secured for the majority of the day. Our main reasons for booking the table was to ensure we had a "base" for the day/night. Before leaving our table, we spoke to Alex (whom I have to say was a delight all day and extremely helpful considering the amount of people hounding him) to ask about leaving our table, he confirmed that we could have it back and to ask him when we wanted to return so he could politely let whomever know the table was booked in our name. Obviously we didn't expect the table to stay clear but having paid for it, a confirmation email of a booking until 10pm and checking with Alex, we didn't expect it to be a problem to return. When we initially came back, we were approached by a very aggressive and rude waitress demanding money from us and labelled "the girls that ran away from the bill", quite loudly in front of crowds. We explained we had a booking and all our drinks were pre-paid but she didn't seem to believe us and shoved someone else's unpaid receipt in our faces. We eventually found Alex and he was unsure of the unpaid receipt situation but promised to get our table back (which was now occupied). He tried to move the girls who were on our table explaining we had paid and had it booked all day but they point blank refused. It was this point we asked for management to be involved (yourself). Overall, the first part of the event was great, but as I mentioned to you that evening, such small details go a long way to leave a lasting impression of the day. In future, I'd suggest you make it explicitly clear to anyone booking an area that if they leave their area, they can no longer return, because as I said this was our main reasons for booking a table. Even on a grey rainy Thursday evening Brixton Beach Boulevard managed to drum up the spirit of summer. Tasty frozen cocktails. And the ultimate cheese toastie from Mac To The Future.

Went to Brixton Beach last month and absolutely loved it. There were loads of street food and cocktail shacks to choose from and a sheltered space for when rain decides to spit. Would defo recommend this spot for something a lil bit different.

We hired the 80s diner for our group and had a private indoor and outdoor seating area with table service. The staff were really friendly and the music was good. There were also actors dressed as policeman and lifeguards. We drank all day in the sun and then the nightclub opened at night. Would definitely recommend it.
