KEEPVIBESNEAR
KeepVibesNear is an alternative R&B artist from East London. With a delivery that owes more to King Krule than to D'Angelo, KVN is different, he calls his music “noir R&B” due to the low melancholic vibes.
His mixture of lyricism and a sultry melodic sound makes for honest heartfelt listening. With the theme of troubled love running through the river of KVN's story he brings a refreshing vulnerability to his music.
KEMI ADE
Hailing from South London, KEMI ADE is a pioneer in the Alt R&B that is storming our airwaves. Her rich husky hypnotising tone paired with melodic synths and new-era funk basslines set her apart from the masses. With a vast range of influences ranging from Beyonce, SZA Jai Paul & Frank Ocean to Fleetwood Mac and MGMT, Kemi brings a different experience to UK R&B.
MERON T
Hailing from South London, vocalist and singer-songwriter Meron T’s soul-filled sound is rooted in R&B, and neo-soul yet ever-evolving. Drawing inspiration from UK club culture, and sounds of the Diaspora, Meron counts her London upbringing and East African heritage as key influences. Standing out from the crowd with her silky tones, Meron lures her listeners with warm vocal layers and intricate melodies, seamlessly traversing many tempos and production styles.
TAYLR
East London based rapper/producer, Taylr, has been described as a breathe of fresh air for the UK rap scene. Giving a whole new meaning to Alternative Hip-Hop with influences of Jazz and Soul, Taylr continues to push boundaries through his compositions and lyrical abillity.
LOUIS VI
Growing up in a culturally vibrant part of Camden/Kentish Town, North London, as well as his deep love for nature; Louis VI's Caribbean Dominica, French, & British heritage partly explains his alternative & worldly interpretation of his approach to hip hop & jazz; the rest comes down to his openess to experimenting both musically & visually, his humour & satirical look on things that balances the gravity of some of the topics he touches on.
Having collaborated with some of the highest calibre musicians across genres e.g. Mick Jenkins, Nightmares On Wax, Lex Amor, Durand Bernarr, Oscar Jerome, Moses Boyd, Tom Misch, Joe Armon Jones, Frank Ocean, Jelani Blackman to name just a few, he's an artist to keep an eye on.
Presenter and DJ Savanna will take on turntable duties on the night.
