ABOUT EMMA VOLARD
Emma Volard is a future soul artist who's name has been bubbling around the industry as one of the most exciting presences in Australia's underground soul scene. Synthesising acid jazz with modern R&B, dub with pop, and future soul with old-fashioned grooves, Emma has been garnering attention from Australian Triple J, Double J, Triple R, FBI and international tastemakers BBC with her boundaryless sonics.
From Emma’s sophomore solo release in 2019 “Arachne Feat Pascal” to her hard-hitting feminist album “Deity” in 2022, their music has landed them festivals including Meadow, Wonder Mountain, St Kilda Festival and New Years Eve on the Hill. Cathartic, vulnerable, and deeply, defiantly empowered, Emma has cemented herself in the Australian Music landscape, leading her to opportunities including performing on Spicks and Specks, and playing two sold-out shows at The Jazz Cafe in London. On the mic, they channel the gritty presence of artists like M.I.A, and the dulcet tones of Cleo Sol, but they stand apart from their contemporaries. They have been dubbed “one of Melbourne’s dare I say… Australia’s? tightest and most electrifying acts' Trouble Juice, seeing them support artists such as Grammy-Award nominated Cory Henry, The Teskey Brothers and Thundercat.
