Aspen & Meursault seeks to demystify the world of intervention wines. Front the creators of the award-winning wine bar Diogenes the Dog, their newest opening in Battersea challenges preconceptions of low intervention produce and wine with service and knowledge at the forefront in a cosy and unpretentious setting. The list touches on old school classics with a natural twist to up and coming regions spearheading organic or biodynamic movements.
The cafe is open from morning and steadily evolves into a wine bar at night and wine shop throughout. Brunch is served from Thursday till Sunday till 5pm, Oysters, truffled eggs, spiced chorizo, cucumber cured salmon and morcilla are best served with a carafe of something bubbly in the afternoon!
Service is intimate and knowledgeable, every visit is an experience to change one's opinion on wine, and all served with small plates and nibbles to make a night of it. Food includes boozy cheeses, baked Camembert, cured meats, spicy chorizo bites and more.
The space is a small venue, booking is highly recommended.
