You'll find the charming Balham Bowls Club on Ramsden Road, within strolling distance of Balham station. Something of a community gem, BBC offers a perfect blend of tradition and modernity - paying close homage to it's history as the local Bowling Club but also creating a slick contemporary feel with it's stylish furnishings. The venue carries a strong drinks card, with their plentiful selection of ales and long wine list standing out as particular highlights.

It's not all about drinks though, as the standard of grub on offer is worthy of visiting alone. Their tasty Sunday Roasts get everybody talking (it's probably a good idea to book ahead as a result), and there's a range of tasty treats to sample if you're visiting any other day of the week. The pan roast Gloucestershire old spot pork loin - which comes with Harrisa mash, roast cherry tomatoes and runner beans - stood out as a headline-grabber for us. 

With events going on most days of the week and a strong community feel to it, Balham Bowls Club is a true all-rounder that attracts an eclectic mixture of fun-loving guests.
