Fretsore Records recording artist John Jenkins is touring the UK this summer ahead of the
release of his new album ‘If You Can’t Forgive You Can’t Love’ on August 6th 2021. The
ex-Persuaders and Come In Tokio man - a veteran of John Peel sessions and 80s post-punk
- is carving out a path for himself as a renowned singer/songwriter on the UK folk, country
and Americana scene. “I’ll be playing songs on an acoustic guitar and telling the stories
behind them,” says Jenkins, who will be accompanied on the tour by Pippa Murdie on
mandolin. “The songs from my latest albums seem to have struck a chord with audiences
and I wanted to get out of my Merseyside comfort zone and see how they fare around the
country.” Jenkins is a master of melody, understated lyrics and deft chord changes, while his
songs have been hailed wherever music is written about. He was also asked to support
Squeeze legend Chris Difford during a pre-pandemic tour. “Writing songs is where my heart
lies. Pippa and I are really looking forward to meeting all the real music fans of the great
towns we’re visiting on this summer tour.”

We had a fantastic time on the tour. Our guide, Paul, was knowledgeable and engaging. He clearly has a passion for history and for showcasing the city as a tour guide. He is a great ambassador for the city. Anyone visiting the Philharmonic Dining Rooms definitely needs to do so with a guide to fully appreciate the building. There is so much detail to take in. The landlord and the whole team at the "Phil" were friendly and welcoming and the lady polishing the bar did so to perfection! I would definitely recommend this tour for Liverpudlians and visitors to the city.

We had an excellent dinner at the Dining Rooms last night and Wills & Vicky were fantastic! Wills let us know that The Cavernites were playing in the Grand Lounge that evening so we stayed to see them. What a blast. We felt quite blessed and fortunate to have been in town last night during our Great Britain Auto Tour. Thank you for making our visit to Liverpool unforgettable! Brian and Stephanie from Phoenix, Arizona.
