Situated on Hope Street – which we once heard breathlessly described on Radio 4 as “the Boulevard Saint Germain of the North” – The Phil (not to be confused with the actual Philharmonic Hall concert venue across the road) is a breathtakingly ornate, Art Deco drinking den. An architectural marvel, we’ve yet to find another pub in the country with a Grade 1-listed gents.

I can't lie so here comes the truth. Brilliant from start to finish. Great venue. Great atmosphere. Great banter. Great singing from the "Sea Dogs" as always. Great audience interaction and participation. Well attended. Friendly staff. Good beer. Sunday night easy parking and free after 6pm. Only down side was the room got too hot and the fan was too noisy so switched it off. We all put up with it for the great night it was and just slowly melted. Can't wait for the next visit. They are a not to be missed group.
