Sebbs

Description

Tucked beneath the bustling streets of Glasgow’s city centre, Sebbs is the cheeky, underground sibling to the more refined Margo upstairs. Designed by Mosaic Architecture + Design for the Scoop Restaurants Group, this basement bar and open kitchen is all about bold personality and serious vibes. Think vaulted brick ceilings, herringbone timber floors, and plush red leather booths, all wrapped around a central DJ booth that doubles as the heart of the space. The vibe? A mash-up of vintage Glasgow dancehalls and the vinyl-listening bars of Tokyo and Berlin, complete with a cocktail lab, wine on tap, and a sound system that wouldn’t be out of place in a nightclub.

The food is cooked over fire, the drinks are inventive, and the music is always on point, thanks to a curated DJ lineup and a sound setup installed by A-Live, the same team behind global festival rigs. Owner Jonathan MacDonald envisioned Sebbs as a fun, unpretentious hangout with a bit of swagger, and it shows. The venue has already picked up nods from the Scottish Design Awards for its standout interiors, and with a private dining space dubbed The Record Room and a flexible layout that transforms into a dancefloor, it’s clear Sebbs is built for good times.
