Dukes Bar

Description

Dukes Bar is a bit of a hidden gem in Glasgow's West End. This Old Dumbarton Road bar has plenty of history and can be traced all the way back to 1877 and has undergone many guises over the years. In 2011, this West End bar underwent a major refurbishment and has been Dukes ever since. This popular bar in Glasgow is relaxed, laid-back and rather popular with people looking for somewhere quiet to chill out in the evening. The exposed brickwork, private booths and sanded floors makes for a real stylish, yet homely feel and it's the kind of place you'd be happy to spend a long lazy evening in. After all, it was good enough for The Clash, who visited Dukes in 1985 for a gig.

There's plenty going on at Dukes, with folk nights, quiz nights, poker nights all taking place regularly. Sport is also shown on the bar's two TVs, so if you're a golf, football or tennis fan, you'll be right at home here. The drinks menu caters to every taste, with reasonably priced wine and beer on offer along with cocktails that are just a few pence more than a fiver. Dukes Bar is the ideal place for a few after work drinks or to chill out with your friends in a comfortable, homely environment.
