Bar Varia is an all-singing, all-dancing, all-kinds of fun, Bavarian-themed bar in Glasgow. Located at Snow Factor ski resort in Renfrew, the South Glasgow bier halle and restaurant has panoramic views over Scotland's only indoor real snow slope. With the ultimate apres-ski vibes, clever design means punters can ski or board straight from the slope to the bar. Authentically designed, the bar is decked out like an alpine hideaway, with log features throughout, long beer hall benches, skis and snowboards adorn the walls, and of course, bartenders wear lederhosen and dirndl.
Bar Varia couldn't call itself a real bier halle without a mighty stock of brews. The bar boasts some 40+ bottles from Germany, Scotland, and around the world, as well as an ever-changing collection of drafts by the stein. The kitchen at Bar Varia serves up hearty winter-warmers, with currywurst, goulash, and Bar Varia's Legendary Sausage Supper, among the native highlights.
But where this quirky Glasgow bar really wins out, is its cracking party atmosphere. Renowned bierfest nights have the oompah-band churning out the tunes while the crowd dance on the benches, swing their steins and sing along. Each night, 9pm is Jager-time, when everyone is called to join in an ice-cold shot of the German syrup. A fun restaurant by day, and a lively party bar by night, Bar Varia is a real gem of a bar, whether you're in for apres-ski, or after work tipples. With live music, a blinding atmosphere and a friendly vibe, this cool Glasgow bar is well worth a venture down the Clyde.
