A sweet-as-they-come Merchant City bar, cafe and venue, Mono feels like the kind of youth club we all dreamed of in our teens. A glass atrium over the cafe creates an almost church like, folky feel to the space, while haphazard bunting, mis-matched furniture and an assortment of foosball and ping pong tables only adding to the church hall vibes.
Cool and quirky kids are drawn to this place by the tasty vegan menu and an in-house record store, even Biker Grove would be jealous of. Like its wee sis venues Stereo and The Old Hairdresser's, the bar at Mono serves up the usual choices, along with organic wines and beers plus some homemade lemonades, and the odd DIY ale too. A jammed programme of live music, events and exhibitions supports local and national artists and makes for a truly community spirit in this warm, friendly, chilled out space.
