Proud Mary

Description

Proud Mary is the perfect all-rounder; a daytime-restaurant-cum-late-night-bar.

The idea behind the name 'Proud Mary' is that "everyone knows a wee Mary in Glasgow and everyone always knows what she's doing." Following that concept, this bar aims to be the hub of the community - with everything inside sourced and designed by local Glaswegians. And whilst the ground floor of this venue is styled like a traditional Glaswegian boozer, it has a retro twist downstairs. Head down and you'll find the Ping Pong Ballroom - Glasgow's first and only Ping Pong bar, housing 6 private tables. If you head up to the top floor, there's a completely different vibe again. Here, you'll find a cool bar with a club edge that plays hosts to a range of underground DJs.

When it comes to grub, the ground floor is where it's at. Proud Mary offers a simple and contemporary menu of small sharing dishes - all of which are made from local produce. Sit out in the expansive beer garden or dine in the restaurant area inside. Unlike the food on offer, some of the booze here isn't so local, the bar offers an extensive range of beer hailing from all around the world. But fear not, you have all of your usual stuff on draft here plus a solid selection of cocktails. It really does tick all of the boxes.
