Glasgow's first experiential craft brewery has landed on Duke Street, transforming a derelict 1960s box factory into a brewing centre of absolute excellence. The product of a sweet collaboration between Williams Bros. Brewers and the C&G Group (ya know, the guys behind Tennent's), Drygate is set to revolutionise beer in Glasgow as we know it.
Working under an "open doors, open mind" ethos, these guys are special in the sense that they want to get ya'll involved in the brewing process, as well as the consumption: guests are taken on a journey from the everyday to the exceptional, encouraging the personal journey one takes in their appreciation of craft beer. Any budding brewers are invited to make use of the Drygate studio kit, should they wish to create their own boozy beverages. The master brewers plan to produce one million litres of craft beer a year - sounds delicious. Plus, there's the Drygate signature brews to enjoy, taking the form of Bearface Lager, Gladeye IPA and Outaspace Apple Ale.
The space features a 24 tap beer hall, a raised beer garden, a restaurant, a bottle shop and a space that functions both as a venue and gallery area. Vintage Bar & Restaurant serve "fearless food for the soul", with meaty treats and British charcuterie at the crux of the operation (we're talkin' spreadable chorizo, pork scratching and smoked pig cheek; delightful). Guests can also look forward to indulging in a selection of burgers based around hop varieties.
