The Chequers Matching Green is a stylish venue for lunch, dinner, cocktails, celebrations and al fresco dining. They are a rural destination dining venue conveniently situated on the Hertfordshire / Essex border and not far from Harlow, Epping, Bishop’s Stortford and the M11.

The Dining Room has an open, understated style with a sophisticated yet relaxed ambience whilst The Bar and Lounge offers a more rustic, traditional country feel. The Lounge is the great place for group dining. It comfortably accommodates up to 24 people for a sit down meal, ideal for family birthday celebration or anniversary.

Their menu offers an array of tempting starters, sharing platters and delicious mains such as pasta, salads, pub classics as well as grilled fish and steaks. Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options are also available. All dishes are cooked fresh to order from the finest seasonal ingredients. In addition to their Main Restaurant Menu, Head Chef Alex and his team create a selection of seasonal Specials available weekly except for Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Al fresco dining is a big part of their Summer season. The large terrace offers a great views of the garden and its the perfect spot in the sun for a lunch or dinner.
