Located beside Edinburgh Castle, guests can enjoy true Scottish hospitality at Cannonball, an award-winning venue. Cannonball Restaurant & Bar showcases modern food and drink menus using the best locally sourced, seasonal ingredients that celebrate Scotland’s rich culinary heritage.
The restaurant offers exciting, monthly changing seasonal lunch and dinner à la carte menus, as well as a Seasonal Tasting Menu. All dishes highlight the finest local, seasonal Scottish ingredients.
Looking for something a little lighter? The bar serves an all-day bar bites menu featuring smaller plates of some of the restaurant’s classics—perfect for a quick stop while sightseeing or as an aperitif before dinner. For something truly memorable, try the Oyster Happy Hour from 3pm to 7pm Monday, serving Scottish oysters for only £2.50 each.
For that special event, with unique views of Edinburgh Castle, Cannonball House offers a variety of spaces for your event. Three floors of private spaces mean there is something for everyone.

We are delighted to present our beautiful private dining room at Cannonball Restaurant & Bar on the lower ground level of our 400 year old building. You and your guests will arrive via a private VIP entrance and will have exclusive use of the room, adjacent toilet facilities and kitchens where our team will be on hand to serve your event exclusively. Complete with lift access, this space is truly a private oasis in the heart of the bustling Old Town. The Private Dining Room can take on many forms. From large banquet tables to U-Shaped dining or individual tables the room is flexible to meet your needs making it popular for both private and corporate events. |

Our stunning top floor restaurant offers views towards Edinburgh Castle and across the City making it a spectacular setting for a memorable dining experience. Our head chef has created seasonal set menus using only the best, local ingredients that we have either grown ourselves or sourced from our trusted Scottish farmers, growers and producers. The restaurant space can be hired in part for up to 40 guests or exclusively for up to 60 guests. And if you’d like to make your event even more special you can arrange for a pre dinner drinks reception or whisky tasting in the bar before heading upstairs for dinner in the restaurant. |
