If you're looking for a totally unique experience in Edinburgh's Newington, Condita has got you covered. This intimate, upmarket restaurant boasts candlelit tables, monochromatic artwork and origami birds hanging from the walls. While owned by fine dining consultant Mark Slaney, the kitchen is headed by Conor Toomey, who rustles up surprise multi-course tasting menus that have earned him a Michelin star for 2022.

When you arrive, the only clue as to what you're going to eat is small drawings of the ingredients included. Other than that, it's a total mystery. However, you'll certainly indulge in beautiful plates of internationally inspired cuisine, made using seasonal, organic produce from the venue's own garden.
